What is the point of siding with the vampires? : V

When I first learned I couldnt craft crossbows or bolts as my vampire archer i was like damn, well at least i can still be ba vl. When i heard dawnguard got this too i just facepalmed sooo hard I knew I should have made a save before starting, but then i started thinking what is the point of siding with vampires anyway?

You can get artifacts that increase your normal form and Vampire Lord form powers if you side with the vampires.

The Dawnguard equivalent of that is the dwarven crossbow and bolts.

Vampires get rings that give 100 health and 20 damage in beast form. But the health boost works on normal form too! And a ring that gives 100 mana and regeneration speed. once again works in normal form.

As far as I know you can get the bolts and then switch sides to vampire if you want to?

I'm with the DG and I just got the quest to find the schematic for exploding bolts, because I opted to do sidequests before the main storyline. I haven't had an opportunity to switch sides yet, so yes it's possible to have everything if you're a minmaxer.

If you already made your choice then I guess tough luck, but no biggie. Just make a separate Dawnguard character.

Yeah that svcks. This is a Bethesda game and you don't jump in feet first. Always back up your character before trying out a DLC or storyline that you're not sure about, so you can replay it again if you screw up and dont have to start over.

yeah im just possibly the laziest guy in the universe so i never really plan ahead, at least i can fix this in later playthroughs

Why? You got the one of the best bows for vampires in the game and you can only get the magic 100 health or mana rings as a vampire. Since you cant hold a crossbow and a bow at the same time. I'd say you got a better reward combo with the rings and bow.

Being a vampire is major bonus if your playing a shield and sword warrior. High end armor refined to legendary +lord stone+ damage reduction granted by being a vampire= You are walking damage sponge that laughs when a npc power attacks with a two handed weapon

if you're a Khajiit your normal claws get a boost too.

Talk to the vampires in the Castle and ask how you can help.

You'll get blood potions for a couple of them then you'll get quests to get artifacts,.

guys I hope you know that if your a vamp in the dawnguard side they make you cure it otherwise they wont talk to you and hate you and the dwarven crossbow isnt even that good
