What is there to do after beating the Volkihar Questline?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 10:19 am

Okay so I beat it, had an AMAZING experience and lots of fun too might I add, but now it feels like theres nothing to do. I already beat the Dawnguard side too.

Also I already did all the radiant quests and I have fun doing them, up until Vingalmo decided to break it by giving me that "certain quest" that cant be completed since I already did it. So that throws out the only other fun thing to do where I feel like I actually have a purpose in doing a task.

Now Im just trying to squeeze the last bits of life out of this DLC. I've beaten all the guilds questlines, main quest, and all Daedric Quests, beat Labyinthian, got all the "paragons", finished "Aetherium Wars", and got all the artifacts, and the only personal goal left for me to do is collecting all the Dragon Priest masks and massacre'ing towns as a Vampire Lord.

Can anyone give me some extra goals? Or something fun to do? I think I burnt out Skyrim from overplaying too much :(

I've been playing Dawnguard for 40 hours on the Dawnguard side just doing side quests and going to the Forgotten Vale.

I've gotten about 50 hours out of it, I might explore the Forgotten Vale a few more times then, I heard theres a few secret pitch black caves there. And I still need to get the Diamond Paragon.

This is what I've been doing, minus the Forgotten Vale that I have yet to go to. But I will tell you, it makes Dawnguard a lot longer doing these side quest, especially the crossbow ones, which are EXTREMELY tedious.

Yeah Im doing those now on my Dawnguard character, but I find myself having to force myself to complete them, because they make me revisit already beaten Dwemer Ruins. So theres not much fun there, except for the Crossbow rewards.

You can use your new VL form to raise havoc on the local nords.

A petty goal you will finish in no time, did you collect all the eggs in the nests in the ravine near the bridge to the Sanctum in the Forgotten Vale? There at least 18 nests (and more in the huts) and will lead to a small find you might not have noticed. As well as a very challenging egg to collect near the bridge.

it would be nice if you had the option of forming your own Vampire coven in the Volkihar castle even if you side with dawnguard when you complete the main DLC questline, seeing as Harken won't be needing it and the castle seems to go to waste.

i thought you had that option if you let Serana turn you into a vampire.

The castle is deserted if you side with Dawnguard and probably won't repopulate, the castle goes to waste.

I actually saw those nests near there, Is there any point to it? Or just an extra little thing to do? I might try that out out of sheer boredem lol

You could...try and kill all the Bone hawks flying around Castle Volkihar.

You'd have to be super bored to do it but you seem like you are close to it.

They drop the ingredients for the Bone hawk amulet and rings which you can enchant..they look pretty cool imo.

It leads to a small treasure and a challenge. If it leads to a crown I never found it. But while there try and shoot that stupid bird flying around the area with a sunblessed arrow, just in case.

That Dawnguard Fort better end up empty so my vampire can move in then, if those that sided with the Dawnguard ended up with an empty castle. Why did Serana and her mum not have the place all to themselves then?

Radiant quests eventually let you clear out the fort and take it over..

To the Dawnguard the Vampires were the main threat so their MQ revolved around them..to the Vampires the Dawnguard wasn't even considered a threat just an annoyance.

It is nice to know Braggen is eventually going to get something out of doing yet another seemingly never ending list of radiant quests.

I'm the same. Done pretty much all there is to be done. It just doesn't seem worth the price tag. The new areas added are practically empty with nothing to do. Sure the forgotten vale is cool at first, but once you've killed the dragons and the giants there's nothing to do there.

You mad, bro? They never said it would offer infinite unique content, you know....

Perhaps I'm just amazed at you saying it's "not worth the price tag", considering the laundry list of ridiculous and inane videogame add-ons and other "bonuses" that people will pay real money for, in amounts far exceeding the price of 3 or 4 cups of coffee that Dawnguard costs. At least I feel like the at least 50 hours I've added so far is worth the money, and its still paying me back in entertainment every day.

I very much agree with you on that, Deity. This game has given me sooo many hours of play, and I propose to anyone out there that before they make a list of complaints, count up all the hours you've spent playing Skyrim, and divide that by the average amount of hours on most other games (around 25 to 30, give or take). Those other games cost the same $60, yes? Now count your hours played in Skyrim and do the math: I'd say we all very much got our money's worth and then some. Heh! At last count, I think my hours in Skyrim are around 475...!

Now my question to whomever is: after finishing the main vampire quest, how many more of these small radiant quest/errands should I expect before I'm given any more significant tasks to do? I'm thinking this might be similar to the Thieves Guild jobs you had to finish before attaining the City Influence quests? Maybe? Anyone...?

If only Tamriel had something similar to our UNESCO... The Thalmor wouldn't give a damn, though.

I like hunting werewolves and vampires at night. I really like the little things they have added with this DLC.

Sit around another 7 months for the next DLC. No matter what you do, you will eventually come across a literally game breaking bug that prevents you from going on.
