What is this like or similar to?

So I wondering whether I should get this (and I suspect people will just say "get it!") but I want to know if I would like it or not. I haven't seen any videos yet, which I plan on doing shortly either.

1. So it is first person, seems sort of awkward for the stealth stuff, how does that work out?

2. I also wouldn't say I am a veteran of stealth games, the only "stealthish" games I have played are Assassin's Creed (not too much stealth) and the new batman games (not to gameplay intense). How does this compare to those?

3. What is the violence like? What I mean is how often are you killing people?

For now that is it. :D

The game compares well to Thief

and Steath in First Person is the best type of stealth IMO, it requires the most real stealth so that you don't always know what's around the corner for you.

Well you see there is a problem here, I have never played Thief. :D

1. Spiritual successor the the Thief series, which is to say it's a First-Person Sneaker. Quick summary: framed master assassin with supernatural powers on a
mission of revenge in a city of magic and technology that is currently in a grip of a mysterious plague. As a fan of the aforementioned series, first-person
stealth works out just fine for me; the stealth mechanics are light/dark/sound/field of vision based. Enemy AI gets harder with increased difficulty.

2. Much more advanced, stealth-wise. Levels require strategy, planning and (yep, you guessed it) stealth. This is from someone that is a fan of both AC and
Batman series, who's played the series extensively.

3. Plenty of enemies, both human and animal. How you deal with them is up to you. Killing everyone is certainly possible. Non-lethal takedowns are
possible as well.

Okay, it seems like something I would like. Might have some issues with these supernatural powers at first, probably will forget them all the time. :D

Two more simple questions.

1. Is it open world?

2. What is weaponry like? Do you ever get anything else besides a knife?

1. No. Each mission takes place within a certain section of the city, but you are free to explore within that area as much as you like.
There are also numerous collectibles and powerups/upgrades to collect in each mission for someone that likes to 100% everything.

2. Different knives/swords, crossbow, pistols.... assassin-type weapons. Different types of ammo.

Speaking of powers, you don't need to use them if you don't like them/don't want to use them. Certainly possible to finish the game
without them (except for Blink, maybe). Makes the game harder, of course, but some people like that.

Ok you need to read up, my friend. The game is very stealthy... If you make it that eat. See, Arkane designed it to be a game where you chose what you want to play like. You can go through the game killing everybody or literally killing nobody. And the stealth is not awkward. It is totally controllable and unique. I too was a fan of the assassins creed and batman arkham games. Dishonored shares many similarities to assassins creed unless you end up killing everybody. Batman.., not so much. The main difference is that dishonored is NOT an open world game like arkham city was. Dishonored is a game with specific missions that are very large so it feels open worldly but it isn't. There are borders. Also, if you chose to be a madman murderer in dishonored, it is VERY legit and VERY violent and bloody. Hope this answers your question
