I'm a big fan of Ambient Electronic, as well as Folk Rock and regular Rock. I also listen to game soundtracks, but usually the ones I listen to also fall under Ambient Electronic

Edit: Oh, as for a few bands... I like Faunts a lot for electronic (they did the ending songs for Mass Effect 1 and 3), The Mountain Goats for Folk Rock and Muse for regular Rock.

I like all forms of music and it'd take hours to list everything. These seem good for Skyrim, though.

My favorite kinds of music are Goth rock, black metal, hip hop, death metal, industrial metal, industrial, aggrotech, heavy metal, psychedelic rock, blues, grunge, punk, electronic music in general, pretty much all forms of metal that aren't hair metal, and some country. I like extremely creepy sounding music, as well. My favorite of that generalized term is the stuff from the Silent Hill games and David Scott's music. I find creepy music to be great for relaxing.

Absolutely anything. You name me a genre and chances are I have a song on my computer in that genre. I never understand the people who only listen to one type of music.

I mainly listen to rock and metal from the 80s and stuff. Dio, queen, Led Zeppelin...
But I like all sorts of music, Palestrina has some nice stuff, Beethoven made a lot of amazing music. I also listen to rap and jazz somethimes, but not very often.
Hank Williams is pretty good, but I don't listen to a lot of country. Simon & Garfunkel has a special place in my heart, I find their music relaxing. I also listen to some death metal and some other stuff.

I basically listen to all sorts of things, except the newer pop music, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber isn't my thing I suppose.

All types. Literally. Ok, no kiddie pop or pop country, but otherwise just about everything. I'm selective about which artists and albums I like, but they're all over the place as far as genre is concerned. I spend a lot of time going out to see live music...that tends to open your genre appreciation quite a bit in my experience.

I mostly listen to dance music of different sorts. I'm especially partial to electronic dance music, though I don't care overmuch about the different sub-genres. When I see people arguing over whether a particular track is progressive house or electro house, I just roll my eyes. My favorite group is probably Ratatat.

I also like funk, some hip-hop, some reggae, some rock, and occasionally a bit of opera.

I listen to all kind of genres, from every decade. I enjoy music (and I'm a hobby musician) so exploring music is an activity I really enjoy doing. It gives me the opportunity to learn more about music, the structures and what characterizes songs from the different genres and decades etc.

So naturally, I have a wide range of genres and artists I enjoy listening to. I couldn't list them all. :P

This. I'd be bored to death if I only listened to a couple genres. I'm as likely to sit back and chill with a Bach cantata as I am a dubstep mix.

As for some of my favorite bands, most of those end up from the 90s for some reason. I guess because it's the era I grew up in, even though I only started listening to music about five years ago. Portishead, Radiohead, various hip-hop groups. Stuff that's a little jazzy, atmospheric, with complex pseudo-deep lyrics.
