I'm just curious what the current gen hardware can handle in terms of graphics in a market released game (not technology demo, please). Not talking about originality, beauty and art style, just raw insanely detailed graphics, polygons per square inch, amazing textures, photorealism and such. I don't play so many and afaik Skyrim looks great but Witcher 2 looks a bit greater and I am curious if there are current games that look much better than these.

The Crisis games take the crown for that I think. Crisis 3 is probably going to be mindblowing. Crisis 2, which is out right now is about as good as it gets at the moment.
