Is there jobs to gather materials, woodcutting, etc. How can I make money and fast?

In each of the first two towns there are wood chopping blocks, you can sell firewood to the guy working the mill in the first town and the woman who runs the bar in the tavern on the east side of town in Whiterun.
Alternately you can go to almost any farm outside of the cities and harvest cabbage and other goods and the farmer will pay you to bring them to him.
