What's up with Dragonrend?

Post » Sun Jul 29, 2012 5:33 am

So we know what it's /supposed\ to do, make dragons land. And it does, it does a very good job of that if you feel like waiting five minutes and want to sprint two football fields to where the dragon actually does land.

Come on Beth, how hard is it, to make it where the dragon lands instantly? How hard?

Just run over to where the dragon does land. Its still a great spell when your in a hurry and a dragon's decided to fly around your head for two hours before landing.

A Dragon needs flat ground to land on, otherwise it's going to have trouble. If you Dragonrend it up in the mountains, while barely standing on flat ground yourself, it will probably land down the mountain. You can't blame Bethesda for that.

I've never had problems with Dragonrend. Falerin, are you a mountain man or something? They land instantly for me. Then again, I'm also the guy whose never lost a named NPC to vampire attacks, so maybe I'm just lucky.

It doesn't fail to be like that where ever I am. The flat plains of Whiterun, the forests of The Rift, or the mountains of The Pale. In fact yesterday I was south of Windhelm, the area with sandy and uncolorful springs, right? I use Dragonrend, THIS dragon flies all the way over back to The Rift and to the mountains, vanishing from my view. No exaggeration at all.

When I heard about Dragonrend, I was hoping it would literally rip dragons down from the sky (like when they crash land). I was really disappointed when it didn't do that.
