You're out shopping for clothes. You gather up your find, 4 t-shirts and a hoodie, and head for the cash register to check out. The guy behind the counter swipes everything across and reads you your total. You look at the screen and notice that he has missed a shirt. You notify him, "I think you missed a shirt." He looks at you coolly. "Do you want one for free?" You stutter. "Uhh..." "Dude, I don't even care" he says before you can respond.

Do you take him up on his offer? Do you have him swipe the shirt and pay the full amount? Do you notify a manager and inform them of the employees behavior? Do you do something else?

**This may or may not have happened to me today.

His job, it's his business what he wants to charge you.

OTOH: if it's like an Oxfam shop or something, you should pay double whatever was on the pricetags.

I don't really care, but since he asked me I'd probably tell him to take the effort and ring up the shirt he missed anyway. I don't want to have to make a thread about my problem to feel better about it when the guilt inevitably starts hanging over me all day.

If he made the mistake and I didn't bother to mention it to him in the first place, though, I would have taken my stuff at the reduced price without giving it another thought.

I'd just go with it to be honest. If he wants to risk his job, let him.
