What Would Your Reaction Had Been

I'm not sure that title is grammatically correct; nevertheless...

Let's just assume for a moment that when Skyrim released, Bethesda had a multiplayer option. Free-roam sessions with a group of players all across Skyrim, you could do co-op quests, etc. Deathmatch modes where you fought against other players (Stormcloak VS Imperial?), etc. You get on, you start out on Level 1, and as you play more and more you unlock experience (like you do in all multiplayer games just about) and you level them up, etc.

What would the general consensus here have been? Do you think it would have received strong positive reception, or negative reception? I honestly think people would have been in an uproar, like "TES has always been a single player game!" and "They focused to much on the multiplayer that the single player suffered!" etc etc.

I know, Elder Scrolls Online is basically this.
