I like to try and clear out buildings and take all the junk back to a central location.. this Time it's novac but I might look for a better place later. I usually sell the really useless junk like bent tincans for caps. It's easy to make a few thousand caps in a couple of hrs this way which is really helpfull at the start of the game to just buy as much ammo as you can.

I'm not much a collector, more a scavenger/prospector. I take items based on their weight/value ratio and also things which may turn out to be handy. I tried to pick up about 10 of each item which might've been in a crafting recipe. Since it was a new game I had no idea what would be used. Once I discover something is needed in a recipe, I keep a healthy stock of the component.

I do try to collect one of each weapon (with their mods) and try out a new one occasionally.

I am trying to collect all of the special weapons. I have most of them now, but they are getting difficult to come by. I just recently found a chainsaw, got chewed up a lot before taking it as my newest trophy. I'm not even sure how unique it is but after 60 hours or so I only found the one.

Nuka quartz and victory, I collected quantum in 3 and put them in my tenpenny bookshelf, I'm now doing it in my lucky 38 suite.

I also collect pre-war money in my bathtub and cigarettes.

And of course, any unique weapons and clothing/armour that I'm not using I store in my Novac home.

EDIT: Oh, I collect the different variants of Nuke-Cola's as well, on the dresser/storage beside the refrigerator in Novac house I lined up: Empty Nuka-Cola, Nuka-Cola, Nuka-Cola Quartz, then Nuka-Cola Victory (as well as other Victory & Quartz in my fridge).

Nothing in FNV. I don't see the point, to be quite honest.

In F3, I had a mint condition collection of every weapon, every bit of apparell, every pre-war money, and balls for Dogmeat.

Actually, I also have 1 finger and 2 Legion ears...don't know why I got them, yet, but I'm sure they will come in useful sometime. If I ever turn to crime I guess I can use the finger to leave false prints behind, and if I ever overhear someone say "Friends, Romans and Countrymen, lend me your ears..." I can.

Started a new character, going to collect Nuka Cola Trucks with it.
