I'm currently level 70 right now, and I don't think I'll make it to lv 81, bored of grinding.
Why do you want to get to level 81?
The way they did the leveling system could've been better, personally I would've preffered exp to be rewarded in quests, and by killing enemies, so later on you can spend your exp on the skill of your choice. Much better than spamming mage spells on horses.
I disagree. This is the way TES works. It is part of the reason that I enjoy the series. It is a mechanic that separates it from others.
Besides, you do get experience from killing enemies and doing quests. Doing quests leads to killing enemies 99% of the time. When you kill an enemy you use a skill, when you use a skill you level.
I know what you are saying, but I think it should stay the way it is. You see people training all through the game. Guards and Orcs are shooting / hitting dummies. Mages are practicing by casting spells at the Collage. Uma Thurman spent a year on that mountain, before she could kill Bill. I see no reason why the player should be any different.
Anyway, I'm just revisiting old dungeons that respawned enemies. Not going to start a new character, since Dlc might be coming soon.
What does that have to do with it? I plan to start a new character when it comes out. Chances are it will suggest that you are at least level 20 or 30 before you start, but I want to play a character up to it.
I try to RP all of my characters. If they have no reason to go somewhere. I don't let them go. I was recently playing a character, and installed a new player home for them. It was a perfect place for this character. The problem was...It 's located all the way across the map. My character had a map, I knew the house was there but my character didn't.
I thought I would feel like he "earned" it, if I just walked the entire way. He was level 1 and had no gear. (Live Another Life - Alternate Start mod) 3 hrs of game play later, we made it. The place was great and...I hated it. I felt so dirty, because he had absolutely no reason to go there. I reloaded and started over.
This time he met a guy that showed him to the shrine of Azura. That eventually led him to an area adjacent to the home. NOW, he had reason to go there. Just because YOU know the Super Uber Duber Sword of Cheese is in the Butt Crack Cavern, doesn't mean your character does.
When the DLC comes out we will know where it starts. That doesn't mean our character will know. I will not just make a Bee-Line for it, after it is installed, as my character will have no need to do so. I will play up to it.
With a new character.
