I generally like to keep the enchanted equipment names to within the ES universe, when my character isn't modeled on one of my own. My current character, a mage, has:
- Varla Stone Amulet
- Aetherius Ring
- Aedric Craftsman's Band
- Aedric Beasthide
- Dragonsoul Boots
- Frostfire Greaves
They're all for various purposes, and he doesn't wear them all at once, but they're all powerfully enchanted through minor use of the Restoration bug (I like to keep things plausible -- it's ridiculous to have more than 100% elemental resistance, for example, or +10,000% magic regen. The game needs its challenge).
My previous character was built around one of my own characters, and while she doesn't use enchanted weapons of her own make -- Dragonbane and a normal Glass Bow are enough -- she did have a few pieces of enchanted jewellery. I never got around to giving her an enchanted set of armour, as it wasn't necessary. Anyway, I named the jewellery after things relevant to the character whose image I made her in.
I did the same thing in Oblivion, for many different items -- a few bows and a couple of armour sets, mainly. She has a suit of Glass Armour which is made up of pieces named after the character she's was based on; her boots and leggings were named as her father's armour ("__'s Armour"), and the rest of the set were named as a gift from her lover ("Gift from __".)
Edit: In Oblivion, I did it for spells too. One healing spell was called "__'s Embrace", also named after her lover, another related spell was called "__'s Sigh", named after a benign god, and her chief fire spell was named after another god from said character's universe.
