What do you think it feels like, physically, to do magic in

So I was recording a Let's Play the other day and Mala, my little elf, described to me http://youtu.be/Lv5nX3tO6DU?t=3m8s.

I'd never thought of what the physical sensation of magic would be like! What do you think it feels like to do magic in Skyrim?

I think the fire spell is like a very warm tickling sensation in in your hand.

For me I think it would feel like a sensation of power flowing through your entire being.

I've always associated TES magic with the head more than anything. Or rather spells with the brain, and magicka as something spiritual or chi like. Mages are sort of scholars and even engineers, but it rarely gets played out that way. In gameplay, it's all "pew pew pew". But all the powerful magic in the actual mage centered quests and overall lore is research, concentration, focus, and constructing or harnessing godlike or ungodly objects. The Dwemer were such a people who lived with it 24/7.

I'd imagine it like you can feel what type of spell it is. Like a fire spell would be kind of warm, a shock spell would feel like static electricity, a flesh spell feeling like the cold of armor, ect.

As for magicka, I'd think the closer you are to running out of it, you'd get a headache and the headache would go away as your magicka replenishes, since you're concentrating energy out of your body and whatnot.

That's pretty cool too. Makes Ward spells a pain in the butt (or head, if you will).

Well you summon spells from within your body so i reckon the lower ur magicka gets the more it feels like ur energy or lifeforce is drained with each spell so you get weaker along with your spells.

Thats how i reckon it might feel..

But in game when im raining down destruction upon the inhabitants of skyrim, i imagine as you charge up a destruction spell you feel engulfed with power as ur body tenses up and your eyes fill with either fire, frost or lightining bolts, depending on your choice of element, and as you release it feels like your body grows stronger with each successfully released spell.

I imagine Illusion, restoration and alteration spells dont even affect you, they feel like they just roll out of your hands as if blowing a feather from your hand.

Conjuration spells feel like your really putting all your focus and energy into summoning your atronach. As they do travel from the planes of oblivion. Summoning creatures makes me feel like a true mage.

Terrible. Your hand has to be a Callus just to use a simple Light spell...

If you've ever read any of the Star Wars books, it is as Daedric_Warlord described it. It's like using a steroid, exerting a force from your body in an unnatural way. For example, the effect of overusing the force in Star Wars is that it causes one to age much faster making the body frame and bones much weaker. Examples include Darth Bane, Darth Xedrix, Yoda, and Palpatine.
