What do you do when you're feeling "down"

The title pretty much explains it...

Wait it out.

Music, movies, games, reading sometimes helps. But I enjoy all those when I'm feeling up, too.

I play the blues. It's saved my life at times.

I fix myself a cup of hot tea and listen to soothing music or watch some movie I loved as a child. Or find someone to talk with. Always good to have friends there for you.

1.) Wait it out.

2.)Music, movies, games, reading sometimes helps. But I enjoy all those when I'm feeling up, too.

1.) Can't exactly do it in my situation... I don't exactly feel comfortable posting it on the forums...

2.) Already doing that... sadly it's not helping

i don't get down or depressed, or stuck in ruts. Stressed out either.

I recognize those things for what they are, pointless wastes of time. instead of focusing on things like "nothing is going the way i want it to" or "i don't have enough time to finish that project in time" i simply try a new solution to better my situation.

and if there is nothing i can do to improve or solve my problems, i do nothing about them and just don't give a damn about the consequences or how they should make me feel.

and people say apathy is a bad thing :nope:

Listen to music. I can always find a song that puts me back in a good mood.

But it's all down to the reason youre feeling down. Different things would have different solutions. I try to just divert my attention from the matter if it's not in my control.

If I can find a rainbow I'll try to get close enough to svck it into a syringe so I can inject it into my brain via my eye socket. That's never worked out, though, so I usually just do something to take my mind off whatever's bothering me.

Watch anime, especially if it's of the cute girls doing cute things variety.

When I realize I'm heading down Depression Way, I go for a walk, alone along or upon the river which is very near my home. I meander or walk briskly depending on the temp. I observe the wildflowers that are blooming, the leaves and foliage that are turning colors in fall, the ice crystals forming, the speed of the rivers flow, the animals and birds I meet along the way. I find a nice spot and sit on a log or a rock and think of what's bothering me and whatever it is, I lay it down by the river and leave it there. By the time I come home I have realized that nothing is worth giving up the beauty of this life and that anger never solves anything and that I have a finite number of days to enjoy the beauty and good that this world hold and resolve to enjoy every moment of it.

Don't let 'em get you down...and if you go down...get the hell up.

Turn off the gravity in my room and turn off all lights, thereby causing myself to lack a frame of reference and no longer be able to feel down.

That, or watch funny videos of cats on youtube.

Can you post some good songs...?

Sure, this one is my favourite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3JZa2lq2pU

I meant I play them on my guitar. Blues is very easy to play, and imo it's the most healing and cathartic music to play. I don't really express my feelings verbally, or even think much about them, so for someone like me it's a great outlet.
