What Do You Wish You Could Do in Skyrim?

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 4:38 am

Do you guys have any ideas on things you would like to do in Skyrim? Maybe something that could be released with a patch? I'll just give some examples.

Class Creation
I would like to be able choose what skill I am "most proficient in" (+10) and my other four skills that I am "pretty good at" (+5).
It's not a game-breaker, but I find it weird that if I make an Argonian then he's automatically super proficient in lockpicking, or if
I pick a Breton then I have really good conjuration. It leaves a little bit of roleplaying out of the game. The option would be nice.

Horseback Combat
I can understand difficulties coding in sword combat on a horse, but there is no excuse for not being able to use a bow while
riding a horse. As for magic, it's one of those "could probably work" scenarios. I want this feature so badly.

These are just two ideas set out there. So speak out and share some ideas of what you want to do in this game. :)

First thing came to my mind right now is I want to be able to drop quest and remove the quest item from my inventory :) (I tried killing the NPC but didn't work)

Create a spell. Hot key two separate weapons/spells at a time, Jump high, Babbette as a follower.

Use the lockpicking & pickpocket skill trees. Right now, there is no incentive to do so

Meh, I wouldn't consider it progressive game play wise as to just being passable. It's entertaining but it could've been much better. Being on these forums and not playing the game basically proves that. In the end I'll just get a different game later and not give a care in the world.

As for things I would like changed:

1: Perks, just hate them. I can take the time to level up a skill to 100 yet I cannot benefit from it? Number one thing ruining the game for me.

2: Why isn't there entire towns of NPC's I can't kill off without regret? It can be a re-spawn-able bandit camp for all I care but make it look like a town.

3: Why doesn't Skyrim have any deep traditional Nord looking places?

4: What happened to crafting staffs? Cross bows? Why is the wabbajack much worse and uninteresting to use?

5: What happened to all the creatures and summons? Much less now.

6: Why is the entire map basically one theme?

7: Hot Keys, were not playing Final Fantasy.

I can go on but it isn't hard to nit pick.

I want to be able to either build my own town or have a town improving mini game where you take a very small village and do quests and procure items and over time it becomes a much larger and better looking town

It could be a DLC

I want the ability to fail a quest and have it reset.

Having impossible to do glitched quests with no way out is stupid

I want my wizard tower back from Oblivion

Attack from horseback. I mean, come on. I KNOW this is something people were hoping for in Oblivion and were disappointed by; why the hell wasn't it included in Skyrim?

Dual Casting Spells into completely different spells; sort of a more dynamic and, imo, interesting way to create your own spells, on the fly.

I could have sworn one of the early videos showed enchanting gauntlets with elemental damage enchantments as a way of making hand-to-hand viable. Where's that? I want that.

Riding dragons for the purposes of killing them, like the colossi in Shadow of the Colossus (especially the flying one).

Open Cities. Mods for Oblivion have proven that it doesn't really put too much of a strain on systems to have the major towns open like the smaller villages. At the distances it would cause problems, the NPCs aren't even being rendered with the Actor Fade at it's highest level.

A clock on the hud so I don't have to open an interface to know that it's only 2 minutes until the stores open.

Dreams. Dreams were an integral part of the ES series until Oblivion; and even in Oblivion they had the level up flavor text which could be considered similar to a dream text.

Destructible environments. Pushing it a bit, but you can't say you wouldn't want it too. :P

Start my own guild, recruit companions into it and cause havok. Robbing travelling traders, becoming bounty hunters and robbing stores. I want to be able to set up camp with my guild by taking over a bandit camp where we can run our operations from.

I want to build relationships with NPCs and feel like I have friends and enemies. I want to have arguments with people and flirt with women.

I want to be able to rock climb, to sit on the ground anywhere, to actually climb into a bed and when I wake up things actually look like time has moved on whilst I was asleep. To be able to officially take owenship over a dead NPC's house. To actually be seen to be eating and drinking. To have more animals you can make into pets. To have shortcut buttons you can map to entire outfits. To be able to drop quests I dont wish to do.

Personally I'd like to start with dual wield blocking. I know... I know... unbalancing/overpowering and stuff. Just sayin.

The comeback of class naming would be nice too.
