What is your characters backstoryreason for being in Skyrim?

So I was wondering what all you guys have as your backstory as far as the race and how they grew up and where they came from and the kind of person they are and finally what is their story for being in Skyrim. My Altmer's name is Farthalmo and he was born and raised by two Altmer parents in Lillandril where he studied Magic and the art of sword fighting for 40 years and by the time he gets to Skyrim he is almost 50 so he is pretty young for an Altmer. He fought as a simple infantry soldier in his 41st year and was assigned to be a guard for the Thalmor Embassy in Elden Root then after that the Great War began and fought under the command of Lord Naarifin fighting in campaigns in western Cyrodiil. Finally when the WGC was signed he rose up through the ranks after his display of valor for the mighty Aldmeri Dominion and became a Thalmor agent who was assigned in the Imperial City. Then he got transferred and the events of Skyrim began with him being caught by the Empire and they did not know of his true identity as the Empire was not briefed of his order into Skyrim. As Farthalmo began getting settled into the new cultural environment of Skyrim he has started questioning whether the Thalmor are in the right with their extremism. Though he still believes Altmer are superior to the other races of Tamriel he still thinks the Thalmor are too extreme and are not healthy for his homeland of Alinor. So now that I told you guys my character's backstory I really would love to hear your character's story and how they came to Skyrim.

By tradition, the first characters are always of the Azreel line, that began in Daggerfall as a Breton House, but bled over into Cyrodil, starting with Ashton Azreel in Daggerfall, Gregory Azreel in Morrowind, Kaworu Azreel in Oblivion, and now Artanis Azreel in Skyrim.

Sounds like he had a lot fun.

He has a lot of Tony Stark in him, so his mouth got him in a lot of trouble.

Lack of Paragraph Structure aside, the "Thalmor who questions his peoples motivations" is a good angle. In my opinion there are Thalmor, and there are Altmer. You meet some pretty chill High Elves in Skyrim, and then there's the Thalmor, whom you can't even stand to talk to for more than five minutes.

Artanis isn't picky, but he eventually married an Orc lass...because lets face it, Orcs are obviously Fire Atronachs in bed...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/Skyrim/Skyrim612.jpg is a Breton Knight of the Rose from Wayrest. She was born male, but never quite felt at home as a member of that gender. But being a member of old High Rock nobility, she spent most of her life living male for her family's sake. Always feeling an outsider, D'Eon was a very private person, keeping her feelings to herself. She grew up rather withdrawn, and threw herself into her academic studies and the military training given every noble son. For her this was a way of avoiding personal relationships, and the confusing tangle of emotions they tended to uncover.

Thanks to her family's connections, she was made a Knight of the Rose, the personal servants of the King and Queen of Wayrest. The Queen finally began to draw D'Eon out of her shell, and she found that she was somewhat flamboyant, somewhat foppish, and somewhat silly person, enjoying a clever joke as much as fine clothing, fine wines, and fine women. D'Eon found herself drawn to the Queen, and her bed. A little too much for the King's comfort. Perhaps that is why D'Eon was entrusted with a delicate and dangerous mission as a spy in Skyrim? The King fears that in another Great War, the Empire will abandon High Rock and use it as a bargaining chip to placate the Thalmor, as they did with Hammerfell. To that end he is looking to strengthen Wayrest's defenses by acquiring any items of magical power possible.

Foremost among this D'Eon is charged with recovering Dwemer technology and sending it back to Wayrest, preferably intact, or with notes on how to replicate it. The King's ultimate hope is to be able to recreate the Dwemer animoculi, and build an army of sphere and centurion guardians. But even failing that, D'Eon is to send back even common enchanted items such as swords and bows to arm Wayrest's military. Whenever possible, D'Eon has the secondary mission of acquiring as much intelligence upon both Imperial and Stormcloak movements and dispositions, but not to get involved in the conflict personally. The King of Wayrest wants to be able to be seen as an ally to whoever comes out of it the strongest.

D'Eon embarked upon her mission with zest. Finally free of the confines of High Rock society, he fully became a she, making liberal use of alchemy to help her body in that process. Changing sixes also gave her the added bonus of changing identity, now simply referring to herself as Lea D'Eon. Much to her chagrin however, she was still captured by Imperials while crossing into Skyrim. Albeit they appeared to think she was a Stormcloak, and never guessed at her true identity or mission. One helpful dragon and Stormcloak foot soldier later, and D'Eon was free again to carry out her mission. But not before taking the time to fully enjoy the pleasures of Ralof's body, once he cleaned up. In that, D'Eon has found that she enjoys fine men as well as fine women...

As long as you have fun playing the character, that's what matters most.
I take my RP in Skyrim pretty relaxed and silly. It plays out more like Mind of Freeman than a grim and gritty fantasy in my head.

Roselyn Velweyn is a Nord born towards the end of the third era, her father was a soldier in the Imperial Legion and her mother was a farmland and they had a house southeast of the imperial city on the coast of Niben Bay. Rose turned 20 a year or two after the Oblivion Crisis and went to the Imperial Market with her best friend Katelyn on the way back they were ambushed by mercenaries, Rose was able to kill two and allow her friend to escape but was badly injured and knocked out. She woke up to the surroundings of what looked like a cave system she was bound and stripped naked, there were 5 hooded men standing over her, the eldest kept saying something like "she should be honored she was chosen". What she hadn't realized is that the mercenaries contracted to kidnap her were hired by a family of novice Molag Bal worshipers; seeing as the wife of the family and only female member died in childbirth they had no females to give to their lord on his summoning day which, unfortunately for Rose, was today. The ritual began and was completed in all it's degrading, brutal and horrifying detail, the family had intended to kill Rose but hadn't realized that one of the mercenaries killed by Rose still had instructions to their location on him, and before they could get to Rose her father along with a cadre of soldiers stormed in and killed the cultists. Rose was able to stay awake to see the horrified look on her fathers face before everything went dark.

What followed is what seemed like endless nightmares, when she finally woke up she was back in her bed and it was twilight, all at once the hunger hit, it felt as if someone had hold of her insides and was twisting slowly, she let out a scream which sent her mother running to her aid, the sound of her mother's heartbeat pushed her over the edge and Rose could only watch helpless as she pounced on her mother in complete bloodlust and drained her dry; next she turned to see her father, the sound of his heart beating still driving the bloodlust. She charged her father pinning him against the wall and draining him to the point of death, as the hunger and pain subsided she snapped out of it and sunk to her knees horrified at what she had just done. With his last breath he forgave his daughter and apologized that he want able to get to her sooner.

Rose grabbed a sword, set her house on fire and ran as fast as she could, finally unable to go further she came upon a cave and this is where she spent the next few years, in seclusion feeding off the animals that strayed into her lair. After years of self pity and disgust she decided she needed to pick herself back up and try and rejoin society. She began hunting at night, feeding on the animals blood and skinning them while selling the fur in the Imperial Market and this went on for a few more years, finally 15 years after her kidnapping, while in the Market she ran into a woman that instantly recognized her, it was her old friend Katelyn, now married and with a daughter. After finding out about Rose living in various caves Katelyn demanded that Rose stay with them from now on. At one point a deranged thief broke into their home and threatened to kill Katelyn and her family, instinctively Rose quickly dispatched the thief and drained him dry completely forgetting that the family was watching her, unable to find words to say she was afraid they would call her a monster, instead Katelyn thanked Rose and asked her if she wanted to talk about what happened on that day so long ago.

After a long talk Katelyn convinced Rose that she should use her abilities to help and protect people and Rose promised that for however long she lived she would watch over her, her children, and her children's children. Rose eventually got into the business of Vampire Hunting and also eventually joined up with the legion who used her for primarily espionage, around the time The Great War broke out it was feared that her identity had been compromised and she needed to go into hiding, and it just so happened that the descendants of Katelyn's family had recently moved to Skyrim so Rose decided that would be a perfect place to lay low. Which brings us to the beginning of TES V: Skyrim (keep in mind I use the Alternate Start Mod so I start out as a Vampire in one of the random lairs).

Whew sorry for the Wall-o-text but once I started I found it hard to stop XD
