What Is Your Favourite Non-English Song

Post » Thu Jul 04, 2013 4:02 pm

Sometimes a song is so good it transcends language.

What is your favourite Non-English song?

For me it has to be "Du" by David Hassellhoff.

I don't understand a word of it but he still rocks it somehow:

So what about the rest of you?

What is your favourite non-English song?

The ending theme to Parasite Eve. The original japanese version. The platinum version was sung in english, which I didn't like.

A Dues from Grandia II is another. I think that's the right name. And I think it was sung in french.

What counts as non-English? I'm pretty sure there are some Pearly Jam songs that no one understands. :P

I got some that are in Japanese:

1: Calling from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

2: Beyond the Time: MSG: Char's Counter Attack.

3: Theme to G-Gundam.

4: The Opening Theme to Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Second Gig.

Just kidding.

I don't really listen to any non-english music with lyrics, I don't know if that's a bad thing or not? it's just that I like to be able to understand the lyrics.

I do however enjoy all kinds of instrumental music from japan, italy and spain just to name a few.

Tough call, there are a lot of songs in other languages that i've heard which are quite good. Rammstein has several songs that I like, Du Hast and Amerika are a few. Ghost In the Shell, Stand Alone Complex (S.A.C.) 2nd Gig opening is definitely a favorite since they sing in two, maybe three, languages (song title is Rise by Origa).

Darn! Tried to find some lyrical FFXIII/XIII-2 music, but I think all of it is in English!

Well, I'll continue my search, then.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESARYTsbTM4 Or do you want our favourite song we don't understand? Then I'd have to take a look at my playlist of Japanese music.

And if you consider the Brits as non English speakers,

Consider "Harry Rag" (Hairy rag?) from the Kinks:

Love me some "Popera" once in a while. Wish I could speak Italian (and sing like that).
