Mainly rock music:

The Velvet Underground
The Beatles
The Doors
The Who
Buddy Holly
The Animals
Lou Reed
David Bowie
Bill Haley
The Kinks

Apart from that I like little else, but:

Bob Dylan
The Specials
Madness
The Black Keys
Don't mind a bit of Django Reinhardt

Can't stand most modern pop or ANY metal. Any metal makes me feel sick when I listen to it

I like classical and orchesteral sound tracks. I like Hard rock and a few more vaired artists like Chris De Burgh, Ben E King or Louis Armstrong etc but mostly the other stuff I mentioned...

... but mostly it's metal I like (The bands listed below also belong to various other sub genres in metal eg Equilibrium is technically Symphonic black folk metal)

Symphonic Metal (Epica, Nightwish, Therion, Haggard etc)
Power Metal (Gamma Ray, X Japan, Edguy etc)
Black Metal (Equilibrium, Melechesh etc)
Thrash Metal (Pariah, Metallica, Overkill etc)
Melodic Death Metal (Amon Amarth, Kalmah, Dark Age etc)
Folk Metal (Primordial, Turisas, Arkona etc)
Good old Heavy Metal (Motorhead, Ozzy Osbourne, Rainbow, Savatage etc)
MWOBHM (Iron Maiden etc)
Gothic Metal (Tristania, Virgin Black, My Dying Bride etc)
Doom Metal (Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus etc)
Progressive Metal (Orphan Land, Symphony X etc)

I like most forms as you can see. I don't like Nu Metal or any form of Rap Metal (yes it does exist, I was shocked as well). I would give a list of bands but that would end up as long as my willy (It would be a long list)

I like stuff spanning from the 60's to the 90's. From The Yard Birds and Journey to Metallica and Boston. I love the old school rap too. :P I don't list names because there's a lot of bands and a lot of one hit wonders.

Too many to list so I won't bother. All I'll say is my radio doesn't get rap and country.

Probably stuff from when I was growing up as a teen in the early '80s; so post-punk, new romantic and embarrassing stuff like that, I guess. Add in a smattering of dodgy prog rock, goth (I mean SoM etc, not the new stuff) and old classics when I was at college and I guess that's pretty much the core of my record collection. Or FLAC collection now, I suppose.

Metal, classic rock and some rock. Used to be rock a lot more but now I lean more towards classic rock. Metal wise I listen mostly to power metal now, but still like my folk and other genres of metal. I also like other random musics, such as video game music (Morrowind,Oblivion, Final Fantasy..so orchestrated music) and some country songs here and there.

My tastes are very eclectic - everything from Motown to metal, plus a lot of weirdness in between.

You can download for free a 31-track compilation of a lot of the music I'm into lately ("experimental indie", for want of a better word) - I just stumbled across http://illbeyourmirror.com/mixtape/ and was very happy.
Tracklist:

Just about everything but post-80's rap and many sub-genres of metal and punk. A few favorites:

Frank Sinatra
Daft Punk
The Cure
Phil Collins
The Pillows
The Beatles
Kiss
Led Zeppelin

Also, a ton of video game music.
