Whats all the fuss about?

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 12:57 pm

I have been playing Skyrim near enough constantly since getting my copy through the post yesterday morning. I have the pc version and have had no problems running the game whatsoever. I do have some minor faults which dont really have much of an impact on the gameplay. The tilling effect on distant landscape... various clipping... such as NPC's going up/down steps. characters walking though solid objects and the like. 2D trees, poor textures up close. Like I said, these are minor faults as they dont really affect the gameplay... too busy gawping at the spooky mist upon the mountains...

I was wondering if there will be any texture packs or Dx10/11 options in forthcoming patches?

Sure the game looks fantastic in Dx9 but surely it makes sense to give the option to install Dx10/11 options too.

The game is running much smoother on my modest system, with most detail options maxed out.

If I was to review this game for the pc I would give it at least 96%, near perfect though no such thing as perfect but this comes damn close. Well done Bethesda, never thought Oblivion could be bettered... You just had to prove me wrong.

Go to Markarth, see how your modest system reacts.

He is saying you're being inconsiderate coming on here when hundreds of us are having game-breaking issues and saying hah I'm fine. Have some respect. You haven't played long enough; I bet after a few more hours you'll have more issues and then look even more foolish. Just because you're in the lucky few doesn't mean you need to rub it in our faces.

Excuse me?

Don't mind the immature people on this forum. While many people are having legitimate problem running the game, a lot of people are nitpicking over minor graphical errors: such as shadows.

Other people are trying to run the game with obviously unsupported hardware.

Whats all the fuss about?

The name of the forum is "Hardware and Software Issues," not "Opinions on the Game"

Currently "obviously unsupported hardware" means PC's.

While it might seem like I was bragging, I was merely stating that on my system which is by no means top of the range, is running Skyrim better than I expected. That does not give anyone the right to threaten my son.

By naming your thread, "what's all the fuss about?" That is not what you are saying. You were merely stating that there isn't anything to complain about because your game is running fine. Different title and I believe you, but not with that title. You're just trying to play innocent victim since that guy started raging at you. What he said is wrong, but the feeling behind it is reasonable because you're slapping those of us who can't get it to work in the face.

Care to explain how about my desktop (i5 2500k w/ 6970 2gb and 8gb ram) isn't working as well as my laptop (i7 720 1.6ghz 5870 1gb and 6 gb ram)? Or the countless others I've seen with high end pcs not working? Stop being so ostentatious.

Didn't I just say that many people are having legitimate problems...

This section is about Hardware problems. Telling others that you don't have problems doesn't help to fix theres.

While there are many people that are running the game fine, some are not, and they do need to be heard.

This thread though doesn't help them, and I'm going to close it to prevent further difficulties.
