and just to suggest an idea for magic making.
A random quick idea for a spellmaking system is writing code for the spell. i saw the interviews and they said it was a real wild card to have
spellmaking in there games and that they don't want to stick with the old "spread sheet" system and they said they had some ideas to get around it
so i'm just suggesting mine.
Now you all will say writing the very code for the spell itself is too complicated. well i say two things 1.Of course it wouldn't be as complex as actually
writing the code but i'm saying do something familiar to it i mean look at the midas magic spells for oblivion those were done using the construction set
and those were awesome so i think it should be that complex for an in game spellmaking system. 2nd thing to day is ISN'T IT THE POINT OF MAGIC TO BE COMPLEX.
To tell you the truth magic never seemed actually well magical in oblivion and in the info that i read they know that. but with making it more flashy and different animations they should also change the lore behind it
or atleast match it with the one they have, i mean setting whole castles ablaze my butt. now to adress the problem of it being to complicated. anybody can pick up a sword and swing it wildly around at stuff but not everyone knows
how to shove a lightning bolt up a goblins [censored]. it doesn't make sence when "you have learned fireball 4" and you just shoot it off like everything else. also any of you guys remember the oblivion mage guild quests to get into
arcane university most of the time you just do it for enchanting and spellmaking. it was just an anoying time delay because of how op spellmaking could be. also did anyone ever read the "manual of spellcraft" i didn't didn't need to spell making was
quite simple and "spread sheaty" so i didn't have to. How about those quest to get in the mages guild actually teach you about magic and how it works. because with the current system any vilager could cast fire storm if he found it.
i know i'm very indirect how i explain things os more simply it should go like this.
Mages guild quest line teaches about how to make(code) spells and how spells work and then you go to spellmaking and you use your knoledge to make spells so its complicated enough that if you don't read a manual of spellcraft you might not have
the slightest idea how the spellmaking interface works. but still simple enought that if you follow the mage questline or read some ingame books about magic, it will be super easy to make you own spells
P.s for all you guys who keep saying there's already a thread on this, i haven't found one yet.
P.P.s(heh i said pp) i know that no devs will probably ever see this but i'm manly just throwing the idea out there thats all.
Can i haz feedback?

Edit: I have a new idea that goes with this, so the way that dragon shouts work is that they combine words to do stuff so that could be how a spellmaking mod would work and it could have a sorta magicka vibe to it but more detailed but more like magicka then oblivion so its less spread sheety
P.S how do they have enchanting but not have good spellmaking?
