Whats YOUR strategy to killing a caster as a non-magic user?

Any tips on taking down casters as a non-magic user?

I feel overwhelmed when 2-3 of them show up.

Charging power attack with my 2 hander. Takes 'em down in one shot, every time.

I'm curious about this, too. It's even worse the higher the level you get. I'm level 19 and mages are (string of censored words) my (more censored stuff) all over the (yeah, more censorship). Probably, I should have gone Nord instead of Dunmer because most of what's kicking my sorry ass is those (censored!!!) ice spells.

Frost mages have are the only issue i have (imperial). The can stop me in my tracks ...and even if i get close I have no stamina left to shield fash.

so my suggestion to myself...get frost resist and the heavy armor perk that stops slowing me down.

^this

also if theres 2-3 of em, hit one with a sneak bow attack, it kills with one hit often and its one less to worry about

Luckily I rolled a Nord so I pretty much laugh in the face of Frost mages but.. use the shout you learn from the greybeards to get in range to hit them faster. That always helps.

First I stay at a long distance shooting my bow. If they get closer I charge in with a 2 hander.

If you max out unrelenting force, this will make it much easier. Also I play with heavy armour, so I get very minimal problems as a Nord against mages. Rush them and they have no defense.

I have had pretty good luck using damage magic poisons and similar buffing potions to boost resistance to magic. That tactic is limited to alchemists though.

My Redguard has no problems with any enemies in this game yet - I can basically walk up to anyone and take them out in a few swings of my steel longsword....... Maybe I need to increase the difficulty?

If I get the drop in them then I will sneak attack with my bow. Then charge in with 2 Hander and kill all the squishies first. And potions. Lots of potions.

Unrelenting force or whirlwind so i can get near them and health potions if theres more than one.

They die within a few seconds when i'm close to them but ice mages can be annoying, they do almost no damage to me as a Nord but if they slow me down and theres something else using fire or lightning it can lead to a swift death for the dragonborn.

Unrelenting force shout + dual wield power attack. If I line it up right, I can shove 2 or more mages into a corner and hit them simultaneously with one power attack. Either that or let my companion tank the damage while I sneak around the back. As a khajiit, cold doesn't seem to be a problem, but fire and shock hurts.

Sneak behind them and slit their throats. Can't cast spells when you can't talk! (Oh yeah, and that kills em too)

Beat them silly with my two axes so quickly they don't even have a chance to cast a spell.

I play a stealth assassin, so with sneak perk of x15 dagger, Dark brother gear of double sneak damage, and dual wield daggers...the damage is kinda insane. Two 8 damage daggers deal 480 damage so nothing I choose to kill lives very long.

Hide behind a wall, pop out, shoot arrow, go back behind wall.

Repeat. Loot corpse. Profit.

Shoot them from stealth for 3x damage plus the occasional crit, and keep doing that until they die (and run like hell if they find me before then).

Sneaking, mostly. On my warriors, I wager I'll make hefty use of my Fus Ro Dah to knock them around.
