When can I post links

Post » Sun Jun 24, 2012 2:35 pm

I'm new, I noticed I can't post links but other users can.

I can only assume this is some sort of anti-spam measure. And that if I keep this account long enough, or reach a high enough post count I'll be allowed to post links.

Is this true? If it is I'd like to know the specifics of what criteria I must meet to post links.

It's a certain number of posts. 25, IIRC. It should be in the rules you said you read somewhere.

Hiya, and welcome to the forums :)

You need to be a member for a week and made at least 5 posts.

Thanks.

I'll be posting a Morrowind video walk-through in a week then, it'll be dead is dead style.

Actually I'm pretty sure this little tid-bit isn't. It definitely should be, but why it isn't, no explanation has been offered.

I browsed through it and didn't see it in there. Being a fairly new rule, I guess they just haven't edited it in yet?

It's not that new. The rule came with the big forum update I believe, which was a while ago. And it's not really a rule, more of a "feature", so I suppose they aren't adding it in the forum rules thread.

Forum ranks are a feature and they are in the Rules.

EDIT: Plus it's Rules and Information.

Yeah, I'll agree that the lack of "written" information on restrictions for Newbie accounts is annoying. It needs to be included. Plus, then when someone creates a thread asking why they can't post a link or have a signature, the mods can instantly ban them for not reading the forum rules :teehee:

And members can grill them mercilessly for not reading the rules when they first signed up. Currently you can't do that.
