When is this released on the PC?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 8:48 pm

I would like to know if Bethesda are still supporting the PC version of Skyrim and whether we will see this DLC on the PC. You promised a release one month after its release on the Xbox and we still do not have a date yet. It was the PC users that supported these games till the consoles could run them now it seems the PC users are being left out in the cold.

I am just wondering if its worth supporting this series of games if your going to forget about 2/3 rd's of your player base which are the PS3 and PC users.

Actually that was never promised.

All that was stated was that the exclusivity contract with Microsoft would end after 30 days of the content's official release.
Within that time, no details can be given about release dates as it is similar to a NDA.
Also, new content is released on Tuesdays, so expect it to be a Tuesday and the 30 days are over on July 26.

Most likely, I would say July 31 for PC and August 7 for PS3.

Wait, why august 7th for the ps3? Or was that 100% speculation?

Cause steam normally updates on tuesday and for PSN its thursday and yes its speculation but if bethesda is smart they would release dawnguard on those dates because alot of games is coming out on mid/late august and early september.

Actually August 7 is a Tuesday as well.

The main reason why I would say August 7 for PS3 is that they are still missing the 1.6 patch and with how poorly Skyrim was released on the PS3, I doubt Bethesda wants to make things any worse.

But, with PC, they already have the 1.6 patch and the only things that need to be done to the content is that the (this is assuming they are porting it from 360 to PC) .ddx files need to be converted to .dds, the .xma files need to be converted to .wav, and the .nif files need to be converted from the 360 version's of NIF to the PCs. All of this is simple as Microsoft already has the tools (and so do Sony).
Except I do think it was made on the PC as it would be dumb to make it for the 360 only to port the content to the PC.

So..... Does the PSN store update on Tuesday's or Thursday's? I'm getting mixed signals here..

Anyways,
So your saying that BGS is likely to release 1.6 first THEN Dawngaurd? If so, Im not sure that I comprehend why. Didn't Beth say or rather complain about patches being expensive? The smart thing to do on their part would be to bundle Dawngaurd and the 1.6 update in order to save money. Or perhaps your saying something else. Please, exusce my misunderstandings.

You really don't want it until they fix some stuff. It made my entire Skyrim experience worse.

Like...I shelved the game worse.

I have a bad feeling that the bugs won't be fixed for PC and PS3. Though, I've taken my time playing Dawnguard and completed it and I did not once run into any bugs.

I'm fairly confident that bugs won't be an issue for PC. So best to release it on PC first, (Being that we can bypass a majority of bugs and game-breakers via console/community patches) then just focus on optimizing the DLC for the PS3.

My opinion on that, anyway.

I find it a bit ironic, I came on these forums to winge about bugs and limited RPG of Skyrim and Dawnguard. I find myself buying a PC so I can mod it and bypass bugs, I looked forward to the Dawnguard expansion but from my experiance I would have much preffered it was released months later but in a better condition than it was. If Dawnguard was released I would hesitate getting it for the PC, but then again some people have to be ginea pigs before patches come.

Some people are going to love Dawnguard but others are going to wonder why they were so keen to get it.
