So I am progressing through Dragonborn (actually on the last quest of the MQ). Only problem is I need another dragon soul to unlock bend will. And I got to thinking, in general, there are very few dragons around. I have several locked shouts and one of my goals with this character is to unlock all of them-on top of that, Miraak has stolen a soul or two. I don't fast travel so I would expect to run into dragons frequently but this isn't the case.

I'd say in 80 hours and at level 45 I have only encountered a handful of dragons outside the MQ.

Where can I find more dragons, guys?!

Dragon Lairs always have a Dragon at them if you've completed Dragon Rising. Just look for Dragon Head icons on your compass. Not only will you find a Dragon, you'll also get a word for a Shout, as well. Also, don't forget the free Dragon Soul from the coffin if Jurgen Windcaller.

Yeah I have discovered a lot of the dragon lairs....of course I need the soul to unlock the shout so I am still equally in the hole...I can't remember if I absorbed a soul from that coffin but I probably did. I'm not returning to Skyrim until I get everything I finish all the content I want to see on Solstheim, but I'll get around to it ^^

There is a single generic dragon on a small island north east of Solstheim. There are many islands, you might be surprised at one of them.

Just look around on the northeast or east side of Solstheim. It should be there above a dragon mound.
