..Where are Chameleon Deathclaws?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 10:38 am

I haven`t seen one of these guys for months.

I heard Bethesda was going to fix them so they cloak properly..

Is that why we cannot find them on the map and using VATs anymore?

because they are always perfectly hidden...? :o

Chameleon Deathclaw could be found at Glowing Sea area when I first started the game.

They could change color from like brown to green or something... but they were hardly invisible unlike loading description says.

I heard somewhere that Bethesda was going to fix it so Chameleon Deathclaw can cloak properly and actually be scary piece of monster..

but all I know is place they used to spawn are now mostly replaced with Mythic Deathclaw for my game.

Maybe Chameleon Deathclaws do not spawn after level 50 or something...

I encountered a few of them in the Glowing Sea, I think I was around lvl 80ish at the time.

Did you encounter them after patch 1.3 or 1.4?

I am curious if they were removed by the patches.

They are a myth created by Bethesda to scare you :P all these people claiming to have seem one are perpetrating the myth! And those people with "video proof" well there just downright liars and they faked it like Nessy and Bigfoot and the moon landing.

A Chameleon Deathclaw would be terrifying - Reminds me of those chameleon creatures from Resistance 2.....

1.3, I can't remember if I saw any in 1.4, didn't go on nearly as much rampages in the Glowing Sea as I did in 1.3.

The only one I ran into was in the museum of witchcraft. I blew it up with my missle launcher.

Wow really?

I thought that place spawns Savage Death Claw..

but I do hear many pre-programmed Deathclaw spawns still spawn random type of Deathclaw.

Have only ever seen one recently. Was one of the random enemy spawns in a ruined house north of the USS Constitution's original location, just across the bridge.

Took more bullets than your usual Deathclaw, but never saw any sort of invisibility or camouflage. Pretty underwhelming, like all Deathclaws in FO4.

This was level 87 by the way.

I think I was level 60 something. I guess they must be random. I thought it was there cause it was supposed to be a spooky place. Then again I have not run into very many stealth enemy's of any type. The first and so far only time I have seen a stealthing synth was when I attacked the institute. Elder Maxton and the other brothers and sister with me were fireing at what I thought was a empty space till I saw the shimmer.

I think its one of those enemies that only show up if your a really high level. I've heard from people that the enemies not only scale with you, but you'll start encountering new enemy types as you get up in the 80's. So I'm guessing the chameleon deathclaw is one that normally wont spawn unless your a really high level.

Hmm, at least it`s good to know that people are still finding him recently.

I haven`t see one for like 2 months... and I was starting to think if Bethesda removed them completely due to not being able to fix their cloaking ability.

I came across one in the Glowing Sea. I was level 70+ at the time, so I just sniped it's legs with my .308 knee-capper rifle and and blew its head off from an extreme distance while it was crippled on the ground... I didn't really give it the opportunity to show its uniqueness..

Lets be honest here, the cloaking ability would be cool to see once but theyd still be underpowered.....

It's a levelled enemy. So it will always be big and bad, no matter how levelled you are. (As if combat in this game is ever hard)
