i was walking to the greybeards when i heard a dragon roar. i stopped and watched the sky for the dragon to come. i heard the roar a few times, but the dragon did not appear. is there a way to find the dragons in the compass? can u describe their icon for me? i just can't find them

They do have a wide circling area and they also seem to suffer ADD. They get distracted very easily, I've seen them head away from fighting guards to go after a deadly chicken.

The Dragon may have headed off after another enemy and they will wander far. edit: The Dragon may have also known found anything el;se in it's agro range and settled down.


As for markers, some Dragons will hang around specific locations. These show up as a Dragons head on the map.

nah, the dragon's head indicates a word wall. That usually means that there is a dragon nearby but they are not bound to the walls and can spawn somewhere else.
