Where's Blake?

On my second play of the game when I got to the outskirts of New Vegas I was planning on selling much of the stuff I had collected so I went to the Crimson Caravan Company.
When I got there, the merchant Blake's stuff was there but NO BLAKE!

Thinking it was just a temporary thing I've done several of the quests in the area but every time I've returned to Crimson Company old Blake is still missing.
I can sell things at Gun Runners but Blake had a lot of things for sale the last time I played the game.

Does anyone know what Blakes identification number is and how I would use the consul to make the game add him to his store?

Try going into the workers' barracks (not the guards'). I've noticed that on my playthroughs, a lot of NPCs seem to start off "stuck" in the area they first spawn in the gameworld, and they don't become "active" until you enter the same cell they occupy.

Last few times, I would have to go into the barracks and then all the NPCs who sleep in there became "active" and left the building. After that, Blake stationed himself at his shop spot and never moved from it again. The rest of the NPCs would go into their routines and their scripting as normally expected.

I took your advice and went into both barracks after checking to see if Blake had turned up.

Although I didn't fine Blake in either barrack (where I expected to see him sleeping instead of attending to business) after visiting both barracks twice he finally showed up.

Thanks for the advice.

He's taking long walks in the Mojave now it seems. I need to follow him at some point but he's leaving the compound for some strange reason.

Maybe he's heading to the Wrangler for some "quality time" with Beatrice?
