My apologies in advance if this was already discussed but I have checked Whiterun and Winterhold and am unable to find any illusion and alteration spellbooks in either of this cities? Does anyone know where these spells can be bought? I see tons of destruction and conjuration spells but none of the other ones.

It depends on your skill for what is offered. The college of Winterhold has specialist vendors for each magic school.

There's a guy in Riverwood (trader) who sells a few

And the Thane's wizard in the southern city (forget it's name) has a lot of spells, oakenflesh, muffle-step, sixy spells

It's hard to train up Illusion when I don't have any of them yet lol. I also have been bad and haven't used Fury so I haven't been training Alteration any. Ugh.
