I'm trying find somebody to sell me a house but I don't know where to find them. I've been told by characters in the game that there are houses for sale if I talk to someone but I don't know where this person will be and I can't remember there name. I thought it would be an easy thing to buy a house the same way as you walk into any tavern and get offered to rent a room. so how do I go about buying a house.

outside whiterun is a stable you can buy it for 1000g or steal it

Each of the city's stewards will sell you a house once you've met the requirements.

The requirements usually involve befriending the jarl or helping the city in some other way.

I know you want a house.

But i want to give you this advice...maybe i am to late. DO NOT BUY A HORSE!! More trouble than its worth

yes inside whiterun costs 5000g and around 1500g to make it look "pretty"

if you are poor just steal lots of pots and crap and make a house outside whiterun i did it i live in Fort Pot Pan made of 55 pots i am king of my own castle.

Cheers guys I just found the guy next to the king in whiterun but it will cost 5000 I've only got 1200 just now so it will have to wait. I'll just need to sell all my dragon scales and bones that I was hoping to keep so I can afford to buy the house. They don't come cheap.
