I am in the middle of the quest where you need to find the Staff of Magnus to thwart Ancano's efforts to shield the Eye of Magnus and the area I need to go to has some frost trolls in my way. They just kill me fast and someone on these forums told me to get a flame atronach scroll and burn them. Where can I get one when the college is out of commission like this?

You can buy the spell from Farengar in Dragonsreach. Idk about where to find the scroll...

Frost Trolls have strong attacks and very fast regen. But they are sluggish. You can kill them with Flames spell. Just blast them with short puffs of Flames and don't let them touch you. If you wear armor, take them off so you are faster and sprinting costs less stamina.

If you want to buy scrolls, you can buy them from various wizards. Pretty much every city has one. Farengar in Whiterun, and court wizards in Windhelm, Riften, Markarth, Solitude. Morthal has a Wizard too.
