So I looked it up online to know where exactly my skyrim ini is located and so far there have been several references to Documents/games/skyrim

When I open up this tab some games appear on a list but Skyrim is nowhere to be found. I can locate the skyrimprefs ini just fine but the other one, I have no idea.

steam>steamapps>common>Skyrim

Nothing to be found, the only ini that appears to be available to me there in those steam apps skyrim folders is the Prefs ini

Nvm, found it. opened the wrong ''games'' documents.

I am going to take that back, only found two files in there next to my save files which are Skyrimprefs and...Skyrim

Both are ini files and although I thought either one of them has to be it, both do not appear to have the desired ini for my tweaks.

I wouldn't touch the files in Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\skyrim
As far as I know, these are used as the default files

If you want to make changes, they're in My Documents\My Games\Skyrim

What do you mean does not have the desired ini? Do you mean you don't see the "ini" extension?

It's probably cause you have "Hide extensions for known file types". They are ini files.
(You can change this in Tools / Folder options / View / Advanced settings - Hide extensions for known file types unchecked).

This doesn't have to be done though. "Skyrimprefs" and "Skyrim" files are indeed the ini files in
My Documents\My Games\Skyrim
