Where did it go...

Oh gamesas....
You got some splaining to do!

Ok so theres this thread...known as the Project V13 thread right? (Link: http://gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=22)...
Its gone.
Where did it go?
Ive searched high and low for it, checked my own previous posts since I KNOW i posted alot in that thread...as had many others. There were thousands of views, and atleast a hundred replies in that 15 page thread.
So where did it go?
It just didnt up and vanish.

I trully hope that yall didnt intentionally delete it...that would just be bad juju.
Alot of people put alot of thought into that thread....

So what happened to it hmm?

:? What thread I dont remember any of those threads? (wipes sweat off forehead). Those threads never existed (takes safety off gun). You shouldnt talk about threads that dont exist (glances nervously at door the handle starts to turn.) There coming for you vactet hide. (slips gun into mouth and pulls trigger).

Honestly I have no idea where there gone but it is very annoying, its not like theres many people in these forums anyway. I think they cant secure funding for fallout mmo and are going to give up (shrug) Image

At first, I didn't understand how this happened but when I looked into it, the culprit turned out to be me.

I did some moderation remotely (using a web-enabled smartphone) this weekend. I attempted to delete a post in the V13 thread that had a suspicious URL (it looked like it was a phishing site). I'm not sure how it happened, but instead of deleting just the post, the thread was deleted.

I apologize. You can't believe how bad I feel at this moment. That thread was a wonderful resource, and even if I wasn't able to respond to each post, I was reading the whole topic (which is how I came across that phishing site so quickly.)

Unfortunately, there is no undelete topic tool installed. I'm going to look into that today.

Sorry,

Don't ruin it. I want him to stare at my post uncomfortably before he clicks the "ban user" button.

Maybe it was merged with the deleted one before its deletion? The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

I don't think that was the case seeing as the combined suggestion thread was created to merge the recently deleted thread with the "SPECIAL in a MMO" thread...

Now I hope for two alternatives:
1. Server backups (Most likely)

2. gamesas pranks (Somewhat less likely) Renesco the rocketman

Yeh the combined thread was mine.
I asked for it to be deleted for a rather good reason.
My original plan for it was going to take alot of work (no problem)
but my school work(Currently after a bachelors in communication) suddenly picked up hardcoe and i had a personal issue to deal with so i wasnt going to be able to dedicate the time i felt was needed to it.
So i asked for it to be deleted since i didnt want it just sitting there halfassed.

As for the Project V13 thread...
Chris...
*Removes a mackerel from his back pocket* Cmere...
I do thank you for reading the post so steadily and also trying to remove a phishing attempt so quickly.
But can we try not to moderate from a phone plz?
Rather cool idea but yeesh.

I hope there were backups of the forums..that or...we are going to have to recreate that thread...

I urge everyone to do the same and then move from there. Image

I accept my mackerel beating with a sullen sigh of resignation. I have also officially given up trying to moderate from my phone. ^_^

The only backup we have is a full forum backup and that would wipe at all topics since the backup. Not going to do that.
