Where to farm non-humanoid grand souls en masse?

Mine don't - unless it's a graphical bug. When I'm setting up the Enchant I get a waayyy higher number when I select Grand/Black over a lower grade gem. :o I don't have any lower grade numbers in front of me because I'm not currently enchanting, but I got 46% Fire and Shock resists with Grand Soul gems and much lower when I previewed with lower grade soul gems. If I had gone through with the Enchant would the lower ones have produced a 46% Resist?

I would agree with you, larger souls have increased the bar further than lesser ones for me during enchanting.
It also makes a hell of a difference on your weapons enchant power and armours enchants depending on what soul you select.

Mmhmm - it's expoential. Each soul gem is twice as strong as the one below it. If a petty gem gives say, 3% frost resist, then a lesser gem gives 6%, common 12%, greater 24%, grand 48%

As you can see, it is always worth using the largest gem possible for any enchantment you intend to keep, unless it's a magntitudeless enchantment (like muffle or waterbreathing) in which case size is irrelevant. - you can breathe just as well on a petty gem as a grand one

I meant expensive as in using black/grand soul gems. Thing is, NOTHNG you enchant sells for more money just because you used a grand soul to do it.... Nor do you get more skillups using a higher level soul. The only benefit to high level souls is when you enchant your own stuff.
Weapon get an small price increase using larger gems but not worth using larger ones.
Armor and clotting price depend on enchantment strength who increase with soul strength. so use common or greater gems on them.

In my experience (16 toons, ALL of them at 100 Enchanting) your best bet is to use petty soul gems and all the crud you drag home from dungeoneering. The only things you need high-level soul gems for are your own armor/weapons (and even then, if what you put on your axe/sword/whatever is soul trap/fiery soul trap, petty gems give you the SAME as grand ones do....)

16 toons and here I thought I was an altoholic! hahahaha

Well, yes, the soul trap seconds remain the same, no matter what soul gem you use. However, the weapon charges deplete much more rapidly if you used a lower grade soul gem. So, you have to charge it more often in that case.

But yes, I agree, I use the lower level soul gems when leveling enchanting. Sure, you might get a bigger xp spurt when using the higher level gems, I did see a difference there, but great soul gems work just as well. Keep the Grand Soul Gems when you enchant your own stuff.
