Where to Install Steam?

New rig is setting up now... 4 hours and counting. Got a 128g ssd and a 1tb hdd. Not sure about where to install all my gaming stuff like Steam and Nexus. Maybe I should have gotten a larger ssd.

Well, steam and NMM is not that big, skyrim is your concern. Anyway, just install your OS and your games on the SSD.

All other backup stuff (videos, music, pictures, utilities, or whatever) goes to the 1TB HDD.

My skyrim + steam + DLC's + HD Texture packs are 14.4GB big.

How many games, do you play simultaneously ??? lol

The space should be enough for a couple of games. Just keep in mind, not to exceed the 75% mark of your whole SSD space.

Meaning: after formatting your SSD drive, the free space will be approx. 111 GB big. So 111 x 75% = 83.25 GB. So don't exceed that number. !!!

Good ol' Mark41, thank you! So I could probably have FO3 and FNV installed too.

Hmm, off topic, but how long should a fresh install of W7 pro take?

Install anything until your SSD reaches approx. 85 GB of the whole usable space.

---------------

A clean install of 32-bit takes approx. 30 mins
A clean install of 64-bit takes approx. 35 mins
Upgrade times are dependent on how good the computer is and how much is on your C drive. So it could last from 2 hours until 20 hours. lol
