The sewers? I threw my pet Argonian in the toilet when I was a wee Nord, and I heard it grew big down there...

feel like there's a possibility Argonians are cold-blooded, meaning Skyrim isn't a popular tourist destination.

I think no one really wants to live in Skyrim. The Khajiit want back to Elsweyr and the Argonian like the swamps of Black Marsh

It's a hidden feature, first you have to sabotage a town's economy, then kill a shopkeeper so his relative could take his place and still give you quests although she hates you, and only then the cities will be invaded by horny Argonians.

If only this were true...

Anyway most Argonians are in Windhelm, I met a few in Riften and there is at least one in Solitude. Most of them aren't really friendly however.

Riften is the exception but I've only met like three I like... Or perhaps I'm counting wrong or forgetting about the one's I did like. I suppose it's also possible, especially after buying those special drinks :)

Riften and Solitude are the warmer parts of Skyrim. Of course you'll find argonians there. But you'll be hard pressed to find any elsewhere in skyrim.

This is less of a problem than the fact that there are no Hist in Skyrim. Argonians rely upon the Hist for their life-cycle in some way that remains unclear (and they may, in fact, be a part of the Hists' life cycle.) so no population of Argonians is going to be able to grow outside of Blackmarsh.

There are a few Argonians in Riften.

There are a few more in Windhelm. Two of the Argonians here may be married.

There is an Argonian miner living in Dark Water Crossing. He is unique in that he is the only Argonian follower in the game. Incidentally, he is also the third and final Argonian marriage candidate in the game.

An Argonian works in the Dark Brotherhood.

... and that's all I can think of, besides a few minor quest-related Argonians who die or leave you forever shortly after you meet them.

Although they're technically not allowed inside the city walls, you can find at least four Argonians working together on the docks outside of Windhelm. Two of them can be married. I'm really surprised to hear that so many people have had such a hard time finding them.

also, solitude.
I've only seen one Argonian in Solitude. He won't speak to you at all unless you're in the thieves guild and he's not friendly anyway, so I didn't mention him.

Argonians are not cold-blooded nor are they lizards.
Argonians most likely are facultative endotherms or excersize endotherms.
Their activity simply makes it impossible for them to them to be cold blooded, otherwise they would spend the majority of their day resting and basking when possible.

Argonians are both egg-laying and can give live birth, depending on proximity to the Hist and general safety of the colony.
A prosperous colony in the Black Marsh will have egg-clutches whereas Argonians who live in harsh places like Skyrim give live birth and briastfeed their young.

Do Argonians lay eggs? (11/07/03)
Men and Mer assume much about Argonians, but who among them has ventured deep into Black Marsh and lived to tell about it? They assume that Argonians lay eggs because they resemble the tree-dwelling lizards that scurry about on four legs. Yet they assume Argonians have live births, because the females have briasts with which they might svckle their young. Perhaps it is both, as necessity demands. All live at the whim of the Great Root.[/indent]
Argonian egg-laying, again (11/10/03)
Never underestimate the adaptability of Argonians, or, more specifically, the power of the Hist to allow Argonians to adapt.
I wouldn't expect to hear an Argonian born in Skyrim (or on Solstheim, for that matter) mention being hatched. Nor would I expect to hear more transient Argonians (say, members of a small, nomadic tribe) speak about laying eggs. However, in warmer climates, in places with established, stable, and permanent communities, you would likely see a great number of eggs

Funnily enough the densest population is living on the docks of the coldest city in Skyrim- Windhelm.
Obviously meaning that they are in-fact warm blooded. Which I think Bethesda were trying to show in the argonian's new appearence in Skyrim,
as they resemble the prehistoric velociraptors both from popular media and in historical context (now that they have the addition of feathers).
