Which Batman series should I read?

After watching a few animated shorts, I really want to read some Batman comics. I'm new to comics and am currently enjoying the Iron Man series (Extremis where his background was updated). Which series of Batman should I read? I'd like to stick to New 52 for newbie friendliness.

Buy "Batman Archives: Volume 1."
DC Archives are special editions of DC Comics that collect the original comics in one book (usually about 6-9 issues a book). Buy the volumes in order.
For Harley Quinn, get the "Mad Love" comic and I also recommend "Batman: Harley Quinn" by Paul Dini.
For Joker, buy "Batman: The Killing Joke" and "Joker."
Other Batman comics/graphic novels I recommend:
Batman: Year One
Batman RIP
The Dark Knight Returns
Batman: The Long Halloween
Batman: HUSH
Batman: Son of the Demon
Vengeance of Bane

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into them. Do you have any suggestions for an actual New 52 series? I tried Scott Snyder's Batman series, but missed some of the other characters. I find the dynamics between Batman, Robin, etc, part of the interest.

EDIT: Also, since I don't actually know of any local comic stores, I'd like comics which are purchasable on Comixology (another reason why I am sticking to the New 52).
