Which Blocking perks affect two-handed weapons?

All,

Which blocking perks affect two-handed weapons?

Or do any of them affect two-handed weapons at all? Maybe you can block with a two-handed axe but no perks affect it?

I would hope that Shield Wall, being the base skill of blocking effectiveness, would help. But the name makes it sound like it is for shields.

The left hand side of the constellation (Deflect Arrows, Elemental Protection, Block Runner and Shield Charge) all seem to indicate specifically that they are shield only.

The bash series seems oriented to shields also ... tho I have never tried to see if I can "bash" with my two-handed axe. I'd rather just swing. :)

So, does a two-handed spec benefit much from blocking perks?

Quick Reflexes works, Power Bash, Deadly Bash, Disarm also work. I think if I remade my two handed warrior I would only take the first point in Shield Wall, and Quick Reflexes just for the awesome interrupting they provide but I would most likely only spend those 2 points.

I heard, that for shields anyway, that Quick Reflexes can sometimes put you in slo-mo mode and then you never leave it, or it takes a long time for it to end. My friend kept complaining about it over voice chat, but I didnt think to ask about the details.

I also heard the Block Runner works, but not sure. I dont know that I want to burn the perks to find out. Maybe I'll save 2 perks or so, save my game, and try, and then reload.

Thanks!

Check the UESP wiki concerning blocking perks... the information is correct in there.

That's about 40% helpful. What does it actually say? Don't just refer someone without even a link...

the middle and right side of the tree work, block runner does not work, because anything that says "with a shield" will not work, so middle and right side, very helpful for my 2 handed character.

Sorry for being lazy... howsabout I just tell you guys instead of making you use google?

Perks that work with 2H weapons:
Shield Wall
Quick Reflexes
Power Bash
Deadly Bash
Disarming Bash
Block Runner

Yes, Block Runner works with 2Handers, I've checked this in-game personally. The perks that don't work with 2H weaps are Deflect Arrows, Elemental Protection, and Shield Charge. That's it. Most of the blocking tree works just fine with weapons, and this information has all been confirmed in-game.

Have fun!

Edit: In case you didn't know... blocking with weapons is 60% damage reduction when you have a 100 block. The Shield Wall perks are described incorrectly in-game... they actually provide +10% damage reduction per rank that is multiplied by your normal unperked %. Thus, if you have blocking 100 and rank 2 in shield wall, your damage reduction from blocking is 60 x 120%, or 72%. You never need the fifth rank in Shield Wall because the blocking reduction is hard-capped by game mechanics at 85%.

Edit2: Also, all weapons (1H and 2H) block exactly the same, despite what the loading tips in-game say. After testing game mechanics extensively, you might discover that some loading tips are misleading or flat-out wrong. Just a heads-up. :)
