Which complimentary skill do you suggest?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 10:45 pm

Hello folk.

To reason why I created this thread is because I need some help. I was using a build that wasn't completely satisfying my needs or various challenges. What I am going to outline is the character and set skills I will use, what I need is for you to suggest complimentary skills from the Thief/Mage tree.

Note: I will be playing on expert level!

Also, I could use some sound advice where to put those perk points in, since there has been talk about wasted PP's in several perk trees. Thanks!

Build:

- Redguard
- Two-hander.
- Blocking.
- Heavy Armour.
- Smithing.
- Restoration.

Archery is under warrior but its absolutely very VERY potent and Id be sure to level up with every warrior or thief character you make.

A minor investment in sneak, enough to get the x3 multiplier for sneak bow attacks, is definitely a great pairing, even if you're in heavy armor.

5 skills is already enough. Also, I don't know how effective blocking is with 2 handed weapons. I'm using heavy armour, 2 handed, archery and smithing myself.

Appreciated, both of you. Based on this and already my own assumptions, I will replace Smiting and Blocking for Archery. Which is always handy for those pesky dragons. Any help on the perk trees though?

5 skills is enough he says :D

I'm leveling all 18 and using training points to raise those I absolutely cant use.

Makes the game much more challenging as Im always overlevel, but its also the best way to reach level 81 without breaking a sweat. The fewer skills you use, the earlier you'll run into a cap of sorts.

Ditching blocking is fine, but smithing IS a fine investment. I'd keep it for sure. Either that or Enchanting; both are absolutely worth every point invested.

Good luck with your build. Once youve chosen your skills, placement will come naturally.

You're doing away with smithing? But it's so strong!

I noticed but I found out I cannot absolutely deal with getting/purchasing the materials, creating the right ones and make/refine my weapons and armour that much. It's just not me.
