You weren't impressed by Bioware's hype, but a trailer composed entirely of CG footage not even in the game, featuring a much different style and art direction, that ultimately had a million inaccuracies from the final product, made DAO a day one purchase?
Anyway, impressive trailers for me include http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N1TJP1cxmo&ob=av3e, the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjCehYrEbO0, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSU43H1LYGs.
I get what you're saying, and i do understand CG footage rarely, if ever, is a true representation of actual game play. However, it just blew me away and because of this, the trailer done its job, and the rest as they say is history.
I suppose it's like people watching LoTR or Conan, then firing up a TES game because it has whetted their appetite and all that malarkey.
Hell, you've got to admit that the trailer even made Leliana look halve way interesting and we all know that is a difficult thing to achieve.
