Which race- Nord or Orc?

Post » Thu Sep 20, 2012 10:54 am

Hey, I bought Skyrim a few months ago, but haven't got to play it. When I loaded up the game, I had to pick a race. I've lowered my choices down to nord or orc, because I want to have a warrior playing style. Thanks in advance!

Orc!

heavy armor with unarmed combat or two handed weapons. Loads of fun.

Definitely Orc. Two handed, heavy armor, warhammer, berserker = LOADS of fun. Its pretty much about as bada$$ as you can get warrior-wise in the game.

argonian is the best of the best at all class, and i swear im not biased at all  but given the choice of one of the most broing races against the strongest, strangest elf, i say orc easily

I love da Nords, but I'd say orc as well for pure warrior. That Berserk ability is a beautiful thing.

Most who know me already know what I'm gonna say. Nord! Although I cant deny that Orc racial ability they have is pretty sixy.

And thats the ONLY thing that is sixy about them.

Personally, I prefer to be the hometown race that the game is based in. I just like being the same race as most of the npcs, specifically the ones giving out most of the quests. Gameplay-wise, it doesn't make a difference. Pick whatever race that you think would be the most fun. The racial traits are more or less just nice extras, but shouldn't be the sole reason for choosing a race.

While some suggest Orcs for their racial ability, the Nord resistance to cold comes into play plenty of times against enemies that favor ice attacks, including frost dragons, some mages, draugr, etc.

i know everybody else says orc, but i personally dont like the orc and think that theyre ugly, they look like the insides of boathia and i find their attitude very aggressive. an orc is what you get when you take a deadra lord and have her eat a christmas elf. in short, nords are awsome.

In Oblivion, my main was an Imperial battlemage, while my main in Skyrim is a Nord warrior.

I'm exactly the same way. I did do a nord a little in OB, but I was primarily an Imperial, and a dunmer in morrowind.

I'd go with Orismer. Nords can be neat and all, but Orismer are better for a Pure Warrior Build.

I'd love to read about you playing an Atlmer or Argonian :3

This. Out of all the races in Skyrim, Orcs are THE go to race for pure warrior builds.

Ha! Never gonna happen. I'd sooner give up Talos, marry Elenwen and sharpen my ears then do that.

I think I played most of the races in Oblivion at some point, but settled with an Imperial battlemage main. One thing I liked was all of the guards calling me "Imperial brother". I also liked being an "Imperial Battlemage" (used the default class), as if that was my pc's title.

at later levels, any race can be a good pure warrior race, the race would literally be irrelevent to the playstyle, whatever you prefer is good. to be honest, if you want to go the rought of who would make the best warrior, high elf because theyre the tallest, beth made it so that height plays into damage and speed, and because of this, the high elves do like 8 percent more damage and move 8 percent faster
