Archmages Robes - all spells 15% less, +50 magicka, 100% regen
Master Robes of Destruction - Destruction -22%, magicka regen 150%


Im a destruction mage mostly, i use a little bit of alteration and resto. My magicka is at 598 with the archmages robes on, im trying to decide whether to switch to the master robes, which look heaps better, imo. Im terrible at making decicions, so need some advice!!

I have tried both and I personally picked the Master Robes, because you can always add a hood to increase your magic. Not to mention you can use rings and necklaces to up your other schools.

I use the Master Robes since I focus on destruction. That choice wasn't based so much on the numbers but the looks. I never really liked the Archmage's Robe. I use magicka reduction rings for the school that I plan to use second to destruction (alteration or conjuration). I purchased another Master Robe of Destruction for Aranea. She wears it most of the time we're in battle.

Go for the Master Robes. You don't need any more magicka and the extra regen and reduction are good. More important, though, you'll look better.

Eh, the difference between the two can be mitigated via enchanting, but I'd pick the Master Robes of Destruction if you use destruction as your main source of damage.

With the Archmage Robes, you average a flat 85% spell cost. With the specific robes, it really depends on your usage ratio of Destruction to everything else. You would need to be using Destruction over 70% of the time for the specialized robes to pay off.

1. You can wear a circlet or mask with Archmage's Robe.

2. Archmage's Robe is one of the very few artifacts that surpasses custom enchanted equipment.

3. Magicka regeneration is 1% of your total magicka per second in combat. Plus 50 magicka and 100% magicka regeneration has good synergy for people with huge magicka pools, far more than it would appear at first glance.

4. Archmage's Robe is butt ugly.

Archmage robes are better IMO.

The extra magicka regen on the master robes doesn't matter, pretty worthless. And it's only 7% less magicka cost for one school compared 15% for all the other schools and 50 more magicka.

Personally i like archmages robes with the dragon mask for magic i can't remember the name of, assuming you can stand that texture glitch anyhow.

I would go with the Master Robes of Destruction because I don't like gear that increases Magicka/Health/Stamina. The reason for this is if I get used to the faked increase I'll miss it if I switch to something else.
