Which The Elder Scrolls title is the best in your very opini

Title says it all. Which Elder Scrolls title is your very best? And did you play them ALL? Do you think that The Elder Scrolls: Online will surpass them all in populatiry, playerbase, but in possibilities as well?

The Elder Scrolls: Arena
Was very good back when it came out. Tho, it fought a hard fight with Might and Magic RPG series within my heart.

The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
Actualy, according to many fans which i know, this is the very best part of The Elder Scrolls series. And it has the biggest world and the biggest amount of dungeons from all The Elder Scrolls games (yes, even than Skyrim).

The Elder Scrolls Travels (Stormhold, Dawnstar, Shadowkey, Oblivion)
Who would not love The Elder Scrolls on mobile phones. Ehh, actualy, i did not. But yeah, those were Elder Scrolls games for mobile phones.

An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire
ONE AND ONLY The Elder Scrolls game with cooperation possibility. Sweet, those days spent with this awesome part of TES series.

The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard
"There once was hardy young lad of the sea .. A Redguard of honor a courage was he.. Sail on, my Cyrus, sail on .." TheElder Scrolls game from Hammerfell, more preciously Stros M′Kai.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Who would not know the old good Morrowind. Huge world, full in 3D, 15 (!!!) playable guilds and stories, not including the main one (lol, Skyrim has 5  ) Dream of the year 2002.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Hell, i loved this game so much back in time. With its 6 playable stories, it looks like poorer brother of good ol′ Morrowind, but graphics was (is) pretty epic, and story as well.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Skyrim, loved by many. Not myself, because in my opinion, difficulty of Skyrim is fitting for kindergarden afternoon program. However, even through this struggles, and only 5 playable guilds and stories, not including the main one, its the most succesfull The Elder scrolls game so far.

The Elder Scrolls: Online
Are you joining Elder Scrolls fans family with Elder Scrolls: Online comming and you didnt play and The Elder Scrolls game before?

I am very interested about the outcome of this very poll. Thanks for sharing your opinions, lads.

Well, Morrowind has one "bigger" con in eyes of many, and thats the graphic.

But in my opinion, graphic is not what makes a good RPG game. I remember the days which i spend in Gothic I, II (games with older graphic as well), and i had awesome time, even when i played my char RP-way. And then, i remember hours which i spent in Dragon Age, before i passed that game. Awesome graphics, awesoe mechanics, but story and the world just svcks versus The Elder Scrolls Universe.

Story. Thats the main essence of good RPG for me.

Shadowkey, DUH

lol jk

Morrowind was my answer. The smallest of the main five games, landmass-wise was often the most mysterious and compelling. Skyrim and Daggerfall are tied for a close second.

Morrowind was my favorite, and had the best depth of world and story. Seriously, the story was so wonderful. I voted for exploration as my favorite part ES but that is mostly because it is the game mechanic that lets me enjoy the stories so well.

Skyrim's story was not as interesting and exotic as Morrowind. But now, Skyrim is by far the most playable. So I vote for Skyrim.

Aww, yeah. The mysterious atmosphere of Morrowind was breathtaking. Somehow, they failed in Oblivion in this very factor.

I voted Morrowind even though I'm torn. If only Morrowind had at least better combat in forms of Oblivion or Skyrim it would've been a clear winner; animations as well. I actually LOVE the Morrowind graphics, even now. I cant look down at it. Just the animations.

So I voted Morrowind although I'd rather play the other cause of the bad combat.

Obviously Morrowind - that game was like a advent calendar, always something else nice (or not so nice) to find.

For me, Daggerfall is second best, after Morrowind. I dont mind Daggerfall graphics even in this days. Just love the story, quests, and amount of epic dungeons.

Daggerfall was epic , the game area/world was so huge that i instantly loved the game when i realised how big the world was (and how much exploration i could do).

Morrowind was good as it was very nice game when it was released, also it had a big gaming area and so much to do and almost no limitations to build your character.

Oblivion was nice, i enjoyed how the character was part of the gaming world, immersion in this game is better then in Morrowind or Skyrim. Also the execution of sneaking and the semi open dungeons was a nice thing. i hate the Skyrim small corridor small room dungeons.

Skyrim, overall is nice, the mod base backup makes it a very good game. But the game world is small in my opinion. and majority of the dungeons are small corridor and small room dungeons/areas. i like to sneak around but in many cases it is not possible.

They failed because Cyrodiil was too much like generic fantasy for most player's tastes. Morrowind was much more exotic and alien, which is why the atmosphere was ultimately more appealing. Most players will say Morrowind was the best of the series though just because it took the franchise into international success and was by far the most unique out of all the games.

While Morrowind was certainly my first game and I thought it was superior to Oblivion in almost every way, I actually thoroughly enjoy Skyrim, especially with mods. I don't really care that there are less quests because the quality of the quests are overall much better than they were in previous games.

You are definetly right there. However, i dont agree with quality of questlines in Skyrim. For example Dark Brotherhood questline is very bad, much worse than Oblivion DB questline, and even Morag Tong Morrowind questline, imo.

I wouldn't agree with that - Skyrim's main quest was rushed for the first 2/3s - I found Delphine a very wooden character. People whine about Oblivion's MQ, but Martin was a very unique character too - you ended up feeling quite protective. Skyrim has excellent combat, and a really good setting, although this is because a lot of the lore stems from Skyrim. I also really liked how each NPC had something to say, an opinion, and they all reflected the racial politics of the setting. It's a welcome departure from Morrowind's generic characters in cities who spontaneously sort of liked me and knew my name - but not enough to make it the best. Morrowind's MQ was amazing, not because of setting or because of characters, but because of the lore it provided, we got to explore the political and racial opinions of Vvardenfell at a latchkey time - and the lore was original and top notch. Skyrim could have been up there with it's civil war, we could have gotten excellent stories about Nordic honour, Ulfric's real intentions, but instead we got copy and paste quests with only one that made me feel anything (Taking Whiterun from Balgruuf - reason I reloaded to 10'levels earlier to join the empire - then no more emotion). Skyrim's great, bit choked on its potential, which is why the order is, for me:

1) Morrowind
2) Skyrim
3) Oblivion (Which you're right about, reeked generic fantasy. The seat of the empire deserved more (thank god for the DB and Aleyid ruins))

Considering ESO is nothing like any other Elder Scrolls game, it won't overtake anything, its just a sideshow in my opinion.

Okay:

Overall story: 1) Morrowind 2) Oblivion 3) Skyrim (sorry, MQ was only good for the ending 1/3rd)

Guild Quests: 1) Skyrim 2) Oblivion 3) Morrowind

Combat: 1) Skyrim 2) Morrowind 3) Oblivion (it's like Hovis best of both- too compromised)

Setting: 1) Morrowind 2) Skyrim 3) Oblivion

NPC interaction/Believeable world: 1) Skyrim 2) Morrowind 3) Oblivion (would have been 2nd but for the generic fantasy and v/acting)

Capitalised on potential: 1) Morrowind 2) Oblivion 3) Skyrim

Overall, if we give 1st place 3 points, 2nd Place 2 points and 3rd Place 1 points:

1) Morrwind - 14
2) Skyrim - 13
3) Oblivion - 9

I never played the first two so I left them out - but I do agree Morrowind and Skyrim are interchangeable because they're good in different ways. Morrowind's strengths seem to be Skyrim's weaknesses and vice versa. Lol - when Bethesda do a TES game they set themselves a focus - I'm starting to think that's all they develop and everything else falls by the wayside for a while.

I believe Morrowind had the "best" class system, attribute system and the story, so I'm going with Morrowind.
