Ok i had to start over in skyrim due to some glitches which was resolved a couple days ago, but now starting over I'm a bit dumbfounded on which type of weapon to use, the reason behind this dumbness is simple, i used bows and arrows with my main cause i was an archer/thief so i had no need for other weapons. Now however I'm playing as a altmer(high elf) paladin with one hand in restoration and the other with one handed weapons, also using light armor if that helps anyone make a decision about this post. Since I'm a paladin i was thinking maces since paladins are normally depicted using some form of a mace, but does maces have more DPS over something like swords or war axes? This character is about as strict as possible with RPing goes, no stealing no theft no murders, just a simple holy warrior with restoration magic. Also another thing i have to figure out is which elemental damage type should i use on said weapon that would have a paladin feel, or instead which absorb enchantment i should use that would have more of a paladin feel, absorb stamina, health etc.(Looking for DPS and a Paladin type weapon) Going to put some information below about my character if that would also help anyone to make a well informed decision about this post.

P.S This post is also being posted because i have become somewhat addicted to posting on this forum but i also need help on the decision as well.

Any kind of sword or mace you prefer excluding weapons like Daedric or even Ebony since they are considered 'evil' and a paladin is mostly like a Hero.

Ebony isn't evil by lore or anything. At least not in the sense that Daedric is.
I'd consider Ebonarm a good "god" afterall.

I know of two paladin-esque groups in elderscrolls lore.

One would be the vigilants of stendarr afterall.
They're all about mercy, sparing your foes, healing the diseased, that kind of stuff.
Most vigilants would wear heavy armor boots and gauntlets with restoration robes, and maybe a hood.

Then there's the battlelords of ebonarm.
Ebonarm is considered a god in a sense similar to Talos, in that he used to be human.
He's revered by the fighters guild, especially in the alik'r desert.
He's good in the sense that he fights on the side of mortals and is the enemy of pretty much every daedric prince. (except sheogorath, but I'm not sure what reason there is for that).
On the other hand, he's still the god of war and encourages killing those that would threaten humanity, so he's frowned upon by the vigilants of stendarr.
Naturally followers of ebonarm would favor ebony equipment.

Well I love maces in this game so I'm really partial to them. They look great and have some really awesome kill animations. My favorite right now is the new Stalhrim Mace because it looks incredible and there's nothing like slamming people over the head with a big blue rock. Amazing! Maces are all my current warrior uses.
