Who all preordered from Gamestop?

Post » Fri Jan 28, 2011 11:57 am

I was going to preorder at walmart but I didn't know wether they sold the CE in store and its a bit of a drive from where I live.

So I was like "F*** it", and went to gamestop.

Its closer to where I live.

I always shop and preorder at gamestop and usually they are the only ones with preorder bonuses so I went with them. I also preordered before they were announced.

Thats because they're gamers too :-)

I wanted to get the Classic Pack, but I just hate Gamestop. Their customer service, at least at our local one, is crap. I bought Fallout 3 there, but I'd probably never shop from them again since I discovered games from Amazon. Their customer service is way better, and they're a website.

I did.. ordered the CE book and game.. I've been paying it off monthly for 4 months now.. I'll only have to pay about 30 dollars when the game comes out. It's nice to be able to go to a store and pay for a product slowly. Makes budgeting for things a lot easier.

I pre-ordered through Steam merely because doing so is much much more convenient. And cheaper. I'd spend more on fuel pre-ordering at a brick-and-mortar store than I would on the game itself. The pre-order packs had absolutely no bearing on where I pre-ordered from.

Game stop, except I guess the guy likes fable better or something because I drove all the way home and looked at the receipt. He put 60 down on fable 3  . For my trouble they gave me $5 off the game so I guess it's all good.

Gamestop, because the one nearby is reliable when this one cashier is there. He's like one of those Gamers that does it right. So I like going there.

I never liked Gamestop ever since my pre-ordered Xbox 360 took ages to get after its release. But exclusive is exclusive. I pre-ordered NV from there to get the Classic Pack.

I preordered from Gamestop because I always preorder from Gamestop. It was a damn happy coincidence that they had the Pre Order Pack I wanted.

Like mostly everybody else i preordered from GameStop before the packages were even announced. I'm extremely happy that i got the classic armored vault 13 suit!! :tops: I love the number 13 on the back, to me it represents the bad luck my Vault Dweller and Chosen One characters had cuz i would always lower luck all the way down to increase the more "interesting" stats (Agility mostly..) Poor guys.. :flamed:

EDIT: ps. this time around i plan on using the luck stat more, mostly for my gambling or assassin characters. :hehe:

I never did that Luck thing, usually I tried to make the stats match a general character. Big but stupid, smart but weak, agile and high endurance but low perception (no aimed shots), that kind of thing.

Lowering Luck a bit actually sounds like a great idea though. To make the game harder, to reflect the recurring main character gets screwed over theme, and to give me laughs when I retire the character as a degenerate gambler.

At times i kinda wanted to stop doing all my characters the same way, but i always ended up with Agility 10 and Luck 2... The game punished me by giving me crazy critical misses, exploding weapons, knocking myself down, and getting random encounters that were creepy and deadly.. oh well, that's what i get :bonk:

I just worry that if New Vegas is too similar to Fallout 3 then giving yourself 10 Agility will by far outweigh the negative consequences of having a 1 Luck. I don't want to make the game any easier. I'd rather play on Normal with 3 Endurance and 3 Luck (and the resultant points distributed sanely) than play on Very Hard with 10 Agility and 10 Strength....or something.

Actually....maybe some combination of very high Strength, Endurance, Agility, and potentially Luck with very low Intelligence, Charisma, and Perception would be interesting. Granted it would just be a killing machine...but that might make a good first or second run. It would limit how much of the world you got to experience...but it would be an interesting experience.

Would be a good way to prep for Duke Nukem Forever

I love fallout 3, but i really hope that the stats, skills, perks aren't gonna be the same for fallout NV.. I almost never made a high strength character, in fallout 1 and 2 i left strength in 6, 7 the most, cuz i knew that i could get the power armor bonuses later on.

EDIT: i edit too much.

How could I resist the call of the holy 13?

It all started in that now moldy moth nest suit, as far as armor goes in Fallout, it doesn't get anymore legendary than this.

I'll probably pre-order it on Steam and pre-download the game that way, Steam is so convenient I only buy physical games for my 360 these days, and any Bethesda game is PC only for me simply because of mods.

I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition from Gamestop simply because, out of all the brick-and-mortar stores offering pre-order bonuses, Gamestop was the closest to where I live. Which is a shame because I like their pre-order pack the least out of them all.
