Who Else Is Enoying Dragons?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 4:55 am

I gotta say, bethesda hit it out of the park on this one. The AI is suprisingly good (was rock climbing and the dragon would hover in front of me and blast away) and they take a pretty good amounr of damage. Its also cool that they dont exclusivly focus on you and if shot by a NPC they wil attack them and ignore you. The music is great and makes it feel epic when a dragon pops up, and they also pop up pretty frequently which adds excitment to the game knowing they can come anytime (i always get them at night). Its also nice to see that they come in various difficultys, from a quick kill to a run for your life while healing yourself. (i like this in regular enemys too). Only one real problem IMO and that is they do very little damage. Depending (key work) on the dragon, i can sit and fire arrows at it as it breaths on me. Also somtimes they can fly away and you lose track of them which is annoying.

So i love it but what do you think?

If your hating the difficulty, the low level guy (killing dragons at lv 5-10), trust me it gets harder...but at the same time much more fun

I love them!

Got lucky and killed my first one at level 5 with the help of Lydia and a nearby guard. Thank God the guard was there to help!

im lvl 13 now, and i finnally can handle dragons my self.. (with some luck and skill).

When i was making a weapon for my self in Solitude, another one poped up. A huge one, i think i couldn't kill that one my self, with the help of the Guards it was still a big challenge. The dragon even killed 2 of them.. lol. Nice items to sell :D

Once I discovered my sword-run-heal-run strategy, yeah sure.

And then I met my first Frost Dragon. Bastards down me in like 2 hits.

I love the dragons! Fighting them has to be most fun I've had in any game in a while.

I really love them, they're an absolute delight to watch fly. Their animations are wonderful :D

I was amused though, one attacked just outside Riften, and the two horses for sale at the stables rushed to attack it.

I was attacked by a dragon and during the extended battle, my companion somehow offended a giant who proceeded to pound her into submission . I had to reload, but it was worth the price of admission. What a friggin game!

*warning minor spoiler*

I think the dragons are a joke, I killed one when I was on level 3-4 without much effort. 4 normal enemies at the same time is so much harder then a dragon.
In my opinion dragons should be extremely powerful and very hard to kill, you should run from them in panic as soon as you see them nearby.

I fought this one basic dragon, just outside Winterhold, which had a VERY funny animation xD. He looked like a ballerina, floating in space! I think it's an animation glitch, I've only encountered it once. The other dragons look amazing!

I ran from my first one that was by myself, level 10, I attacked it several times and it killed me so I finally just ran away, they r tough if u don't use fire resist, love the dragons tho, I had one circle me randomly, I hid from it and it flew away which was cool

At first when I seen or heard a dragon I thought to myself "Oh [censored]" now whenever I hear a dragon I actively search it out :) Call me a coward but I call it smart- I lead the dragon to npcs if I'm able and carry out the battle alongside friend or foe
If no npcs are nearby I pick a spot where there is plenty of cover if not I remained stealthed and sneak away from the dragon. A more recent example is I happened to be near giants and there precious mammoths and I lead the dragon straight to them, however what I didn''t expect was the giants straight up owned the dragon and I just stole it's soul and power after the battle

Haven`t seen many with my lvl 13 char, only had 2 so far (which is annoying since i`ve found 5 word walls and need more Soulsssss). the 2nd one near gave me a heart attack.
I was on the 7000 steps when it landed almost on top of me, with no warning. I had no arrows and had to use my greatsword while trying to avoid getting gnawed and breathed on.
`Twas quite an Epic battle :D

this*
also scares the s### out of me hearing them howl in the distance and realize its starting to fly your way lol then realizing its a blood dragon(pretty sure those ons are better than the others) i was tired from a days questing walked outside the collage of winterhold at night and was surprised to come face to face with one!!! my companion was at home and everyone was inside. it completely owned me. 10000x better than :obliviongate: IMO.

only thing im worried about if any can confirm if they disappear after main quest ends??? because i might not have all the shouts by then and i enjoy how random they are.

Think it's been confirmed that they are around after the MQ.

Well done bethesda, 0 glitches with the dragons AI so far, and i've killed like 10 ... 2 of them attacked a village so far, but the thing is they die abit fast when 5 guards are attacking them with melee... they should do like 80% less damage against dragons imo, except companions

Dragons are friggin awesome. Its one of the few things i can be really enthusiastic about in Skyrim. From the way they move, to the way they fight. I've had several 'zomg' moments while fighting them, hell one nearly crashed on top of me, missing me by a few inches, and bounced off a rock before resting just before me. So far, i wouldn't change a thing about Dragon battles, Bethesda outdid themselves here.

I just love hearing a very quiet sound that could be a dragon, but you're not sure, so you either wait around a bit or gtfo, depending on how confident you are.
