Who else got the strategy guide?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 7:41 am

Anyone else here who bought the official strategy guide just for the heck of it, even though you don′t plan ever to use it because of spoilers?

I just found it anawesome thing and a game manual with 600+ pages is just bat?hit insane! :D
Had to buy this!
Probably there′ll be cool artworks in, too and it just adds this "I′m playing this game SERIOUSLY"-premium-feeling.
Also It will make the busdrive back home from the game stop bearable.

I did, preordered the collector's edition of the guide and standard skyrim box. Felt more bang for my buck then buying the collector edition of the box with the plastic dragon and tiny book.

I didn′t even see a special collection available at my Game Stop, or else, I′d have bought it. Well, now I basically got my special collection probably for a few bucks more. But that′s worth it! :D

Im resisting, i bought the oblivion one which was great but it kinda kills your sense of discovery. Going in blind.

70 pages of just learning about skills and perks

Without ever looking at quest spoilers of any kind, the info on items, perks, skills, and the like makes the guide worthwhile

I have not bought the strategy guide. I like to explore on my own. Strategy guides ruin it for me.

Yep! The first couple of pages that just inform you on a bunch of gameplay elements and weapon stats.

Nveer use it for the quests.

I plan to pick up the hardback version at some point it looks pretty awesome, although I will probably resist reading it until I've finished the game once.

I'll likely pick it up when it goes on sale somewhere, as I'm sure I'll still be trying to work my way through the game.

And honestly, I only read the 'articles', I never look at the pictures... I swear.

Here in my country (Spain) there's not even publicity of Skyrim, much less the Strategy guide. But you can literally drown in MW3 merchandise.
Seriously, I have 3 video game stores in less than 1 Km (0,71 miles) and NONE of them has any Skyrim publicity, neither GameStop, nor GAME. And I know the owners of the three, and they aren't even going to put publicity :(
I'll have to import the strategy guide :(

I did also :tes:

I've found over the years the Elder scroll guides are actually useful and worth getting unlike other games.
