Who else is turning away from xbox?

I am curious to know how many posters on this forum are feeling the same as myself. I spend thousands a year on gaming so I expect good customer relations and support. I have already refused to buy anymore Apple products (after not allowing me to put my own music on or ringtones but constantly trying to sell me their products - I am all Galaxy phoe and tablet now) and I refuse to buy another Lionhead Studios product (after they tried to exploit fans money on stupid dlc on Fable 3 - unless they can convince me different by giving a bit back and showing a bit of appreciation). I cannot believe I am the only one due to the extent of control and liberty that Microsoft are putting upon their customers.

I am also curious as to what path those that refuse to buy the console are going to take.

I didn't realize how easy it is to link up a pc to a TV and only found out in these last few days after considerring my path to take. I myself have already been online and ordered myself a 10 mtr hdmi cable and a pc xbox controller so that I can link my laptop (which already has top processor and graphics etc) up to my large HD flat screen tv. Which is great as I can now play Morrowind again (unlike on xbox 360) and I am tempted to buy the new Skyrim legendary edition so I can start downloading mods (which I am unable to do with xbox at present)

i am also looking very careful at the PS4 which no doubt I will buy the week it comes out.

So what alternative paths are people planning to take if they are refusing to buckle under Microsoft's cheek?

Welcome to the PC club, things are better here.

I don't think many are going to openly admit they are buying Xbox One. It's quite a travesty of a console.

When I first got into gaming, it was on the PS2, when the PS3 was released it was like $600, so I got an Xbox 360, now I'm going back to Playstation.

The only reason I have an Xbox360 is that it was free when i switched to my current Internet provider several years ago. Always been a Nintendo and PSX guy and that likely won't change, though i've never bought a console on launch, always after a price drop or getting it as a gift.

xbox doesn't have the kind of exclusives that would make me want to go out and buy one, and the whole not being able to buy used issue is a real turn off since that's how i buy the majority of my games.

I do some PC gaming as well, but mostly PS3 and wii. I have at least 10 games (all bought for $10-$20) in my backlog to get through and many more on the to buy list when the price drops that should get me through the next few years. By then the PS4 and WiiU should be reasonably priced, with a decent library of games and worth taking a run at... xbox one isn't even an afterthought...

The Xbox One turned out to be a poor thing; I'm never going to get it, and I hope the PS4 will beat it so hard on the market that Microsoft realize that they should've gone back to basics and actually designed a gaming console, instead of attempting to create some ultimate media nexus box. Their horrible practices such as forcing the users to stay online, used game restriction and the other dreadful things just makes me dislike it more, and it shows what's wrong with the gaming industry today.

I'll stick to my PC for the time being, but I'll most likely be getting the PS4 later when it becomes cheaper.

Well I switched to PC about... I dunno, a year after New Vegas was released and since then the 360 have been collecting dust.

Still, if there is a game I want which I can't play on PC because the requirements for it to work properly are too high then it was a nice comfort to know I could always buy it for the console, so I'm probably going to get a console again for the high requirement games and if PS4 has a good selection I will buy that.

I won't buy an Xbox 3 ([censored] "one", it's the third so I will call it #3) because of reasons that should be obvious and I refuse to help Nintendo continue to cash in. When Nintendo change their damn console concept to use a controller and produce games instead of gimmicks and milking dead horses 'then' will I consider buying a console from them. So basically when they decide to do a Camecube 2 and start publishing/developing new IP's.

But I'm fine on my PC, the only games I'm looking forward to are indie games and fan-funded games from things like Kickstarter, all of which should run fine on my computer. I looked at Mr Repzions latest video on youtube regarding what he is looking forward to from E3 and nothing he mentioned was even remotely interesting and any time I look at "upcoming games" all I see is crap. So I'm fine sticking to indies and fan funded.
