Who here is an MMO virgin?

I have NEVER played an MMO... So TES Online seems kind of intimidating.

What about you guys?

I played RuneScape for a year or two, as a paying member. Never going back to that.
Whether I play this or not, I need more info.

I've played a little MMO's (Guild wars and laptop on my girlfriends characters) and I have never ever liked them. I really am upset about this move but hopefully the information will make me go 'Wow I was wrong about multiplayer TES being abomination, this won't kill the single player or ruin the series or be a terrible WoW copy style game and it does not even have any gimmicky features promising to be new and special when it is actually the same as all other previous MMO games'

I have Diablo II, and soon Diablo III! I guess they count somewhat, but I barely even played the multiplayer. /spottedowl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':spotted owl:' />

A different kind of MMO; DC Universe. Played it for about 100-150 hours. I've seen my friend play a lot of RuneScape though, so I know what that is about as well. Neither of them were very good tbh. Combat was seriously lacking in both, in very different ways. I don't know what to expect from a TES MMO.

I hope TES: Online doesn't have the same problems as Final Fantasy 14: Online, as seen in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--LOYdzogDA

Yes. This might be my first as well... I really have to see how it is first.

I've watched WoW videos on YouTube, and I can't say that I'm impressed with the gameplay. Plus I imagine myself exploring the world, and suddenly a group of idiots shows up to ruin the immersion.

I'm hoping they don't do too many people per server, and that it's just like the single player games, but with the option to do quests with a few other people.

I'm not sure whether playing a couple of hours of World of Warcraft (post-free up to level 20 offer) counts, but that's my only experience. I didn't love it. But I, at least, feel that the world of Tamriel is so much more fleshed out and full of lore that I could be compelled to give my first true MMO a go.

I picked up EQ when it was released and played it for a while, although with a troll shadowknight as my main people I knew usually leveled past me too quickly for extended team ups.

Later on I picked up Anarchy Online and had a very good time. Unfortunately I put a ton of work into setting up a particular build for a new character and when it later fell apart I lost my enthusiasm.

I'd say I have a fair bit of MMO experience, although not the breadth or depth of some people. (In fact for years my sister tried to get me into WoW.)

8 years in Star Wars Galaxies (best times of my gaming life), 1 month in WoW (meh, at least it was polished), 4 months in SWTOR (over hyped garbage), 1 month in Star Trek Online (genuinely average), 1 month in EVE online (fun, but really complex). So sadly no, I am not an MMO virgin.

I've played Lord of the Rings online quite a bit when it went f2p, and I've played some WoW trials. I also tried out a handful of other MMO's, but I've never payed for one or gotten a character to max level or anything.

Played WOW on the free trial basis, didn't like it.
Like a lot of people I'd need more info before deciding anything. I doubt I'll rush in and buy it/subscribe to it on release.

Never played an MMO but am very interested in TES Online. The gamebreaker for me would be if they removed the 1st person perspective. Kills the immersion for me and I'm just plain terrible when controlling chars in 3rd.

you never know, FFXI was on xbox 360.

Warcraft, Aion, SW:TOR, Allods, many games have taken up my down time. Warcraft being the first and foremost, I think I've spent nearly a few months in total online in WoW. So yeah, I've had my time spent. But for TES? Baby you have my heart, haha.
