Nord, because the ability to Shout was a Gift of Mother Kyne to Her Favored Children.

Well, I always play Breton, the magic resistance is too tempting. I thought that an authentic Dragonborn should be Nord, but recently I've found in the in game lore that there is a version of history that states that Talos (Ysmir, Tiber Septim, Hjalti Early-Beard, etc.) was born in High Rock, so I've found one more reason to keep playing Breton.

Spoiler
Read the in-game book The Arcturian Heresy, also there's a small quest "The Ghost of Old Hroldan" where a character mentions Alcaire (High Rock) when mistaking you with Talos.

I can't do the MQ as any race other than Nord. Laugh all you like but I can't picture a non-Nord Dragonborn. All other races I avoid the MQ and role play as not-the-Dragonborn. :P

The dragonborn is also chosen by akatosh who is worshipped by all but argonian n dunmer. Also works for the beginning because u were caught crossing the border in the beginning

I like nord as the choice because they believe in akatosh (who chose the dragonborn ) and alduin, very likely but y would a nord be in trouble for crossing the border bk into their homeland

Anybody who worships akatosh can be dragonborn is the problem, plus they have to learn their ways of it so any races who worships him is eligible which is y I decided to make this post, I do enjoy ur reasoning though

Nord. The first Dragonborn was a Nord. The only race to shout are Nords. Saviors of men? Almost always Nords.

Indeed

Edit: no books on sancre tor I have r sayin he's nord but I do remember laughin because his last name is cyrodiil n he was nord, this was also when TES 4 first came out so I was young n dumb, It makes sense if he's imperial especially since the battle with Tiber septim was there( he was nord)

Can you give me a link to that, because the UESP seems to note him as Imperial and I can't seem to find anything about what the inscriptions say?

After reading "the book of the dragonborn" I'm kinda thinking imperial is the real dragonborn by blood, he would be an heir of either reman or Tiber, unless blessed with it by akatosh, anyone else got any ideas? Starting to learn this weird story as I go all over again, I guess things changed a lil

Nope. Any Imperial dragonborn is one of Tiber's distant cousins. Tiber's son/daughter descendants died out.

Could still be a John snowish character except unknown of their blood and hundreds of years later the dragonborn is needed and found, reman's heir still roam though don't they?

I'm unsure, but Reman is a Nord anyway.

All races are good. Human races are better. Nord is the best.

What are the inscriptions on Reman's tomb?

There are only four races that I can play as Dragonborn and not feel entirely out of place:

In no particular order, except #1.

1) Nord, for obvious reasons.

2) Imperial, because they are so close to Nords and late Septims were Imperials.

3) Breton, because Pelagius III was Breton.

4) Altmer, because they are the race most connected with Akatosh. After Nords they are the first race I'd say Akatosh would choose as his champion. Only Elven race that I think has even slight legitimacy for Dragonbornhood. I also like to think that Akatosh would choose an Altmer to save mankind to create ties between two peoples so much at each others' throats.

I go with Nord because it just fits the best. Homeland and all that. Sometimes I like to be an Imperial and roleplay as a Septim descendant. Dragonblood from Oblivion and all that. I don't think it really matters what race, though. Doesn't seem to be a gift that's specific on races. Besides shouting, I think.

There are non-Nords that have Thu'um. The Ebony Warrior among others is a Redguard that has Thu'um.
