Who wants a TES Online made by Bethesda Game Studios?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 11:42 am

Now that I saw what a mmo representation of the TES universe means to this new studio, I wish it was Bethesda Game Studios and Todd Howard the ones who made a TES mmo. What do you say? Maybe they will make another one, more in the spirit of their own style.

Um, YES.

The fact that it's not even being made by the people who make the Elder Scrolls is probably the biggest reason I'm worried about this game.

If Bethesda was worried about the game, don't you think they would step in or force a cancel? Don't you think if Bethesda thought that Zenimax couldn't handle the game they wouldn't have given them the go to work on it? Oh no, that's right, the sky is falling, right? Sorry for bringing some sense into this forum.

Bethesda Game Studios, ie the TES developers, have no say over it.

Bethesda Softworks, ie the publisher, does.

No. This MMO in my eyes is a slight waste of time, it may be fun for a bit but won't compete with other games that have way heavier and stronger MMO components.

I respected TES as an offline RPG, but what can you do.

No thanks. I'd rather that Bethesda stick to the single-player games that they're known and loved for. Leave the multiplayer stuff to Zennimax.

I'd rather Bethesda Game studio focuses on the main entries of TES and Fallout then them making an mmo this also gives zenimax online to prove itself so I have no problem with BGS just providing help with this rather then developing it

You are completely missing the point of the topic Varking. The question is "would you prefer it if Bethesda was in charge of making the game ?" not "Do you think that Zenimax can make it ?", there isn't that much difference between the two, but it's still not the same thing.
Also, you tend to forget that Zenimax is the MOTHER company, not Beth. In short, if Zeni want to put ponies and pink fairy dragons in TES:O, nothing can stop them from doing it (not saying that they are gonna do it, they seems to respect the lore at least).

Personnaly, I wouldn't want Beth to work on it since it would mean less people to work on the future Fallout and solo TES. But I'd like Beth to have more influence over TES:O.

The point of the topic is silly though. Bethesda IS NOT developing the game, and they WILL NOT be developing this game. Nothing to change now. Just move on from that train of thought of playing "What if?" all day and hope Zeni pulls through.

Oh definitely not. I'm sorry but if the resources and the team who make the TES that I love are used in a different area, the TES single-player game will suffer and be less than it is...amazing. Less than amazing is not something to strive for. BGS became great by doing what they're doing and they've put together a great team. Their skills are not in the MMO area, AFAIK, and that's ok. Nope, sorry...besides, they are working on Fallout 4 too, I hope. Ok, back to Skyrim for me. :tes:

No, now it's too late. If they made it from the beginning, yes. If they take the time to repair this [censored] it means TES VI will be delayed.

I said I would have preferred them for this game, but the question is if you would like another one made by BGS. I said another TES mmo.

I don't wish that at all, I want them to continue to make great single player games.

Seeing those pictures and all the lame excuses "this of course can't be like in the single player TES, and also that, and that, and that..." I can safely assume anything made by Todd Howard would have been more TES'ish.

"Rage"

At least the PC version, never seen a game that was hyped that much fall in price so quick before, except for maybe daikatana back in the day, jesus that was the mother of all flops.

"Brink"

Wanted to be so much (revolutionise the Multiplayer FPS Genre at some point in development), achieved so little.

But I do not see what you're trying to achieve with that question? To show that Bethesda can survive flops? I think there's no doubt about that.

While I agree Todd would have made it closer to what the fans expect, let's not forget that Todd himself said he doesn't like MMO's and doesn't play MMO's. So I think it's better he didn't jump on a project he doesn't believe in, just for the vanity of parenting the franchise. Let's hope his collaboration on lore was consistent enough to make this feel a bit like Tes, because it surely doesn't look like Tes.

No offense, but BGS doesn't have the know how to make an MMO. They've been migrating to console titles over the last decade or so, and they've been building their talent pool accordingly. That said, I'm sure that some of the writers from BGS helped out with TESO - maybe went so far as to move to the ZOS team. I'm sure there has been plenty of communication between the two studios to make sure everything in TESO 'makes sense.'

Zenimax isn't exactly a seperate company. They're actually the parent company of Bethesda Softworks.

No, thanks.

No one.

Nobody.

None.

... But I like to see co-op in TES VI someday...

NO!
Only thing which makes me happy about TESO is the fact (or at least I hope that it's a fact) that it won't screw up original TES series in any way!
Leave Bethesda and TES out of this!

Bethesda can't even implement a multiplayer. What makes you think they could pull off an MMO?
